Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

We have to complete four courses, out of which one course is a compulsory classroom course by the department. For the other three courses, we are allowed to take any self-study courses guided by our research advisor. There is also one compulsory course on Research Ethics and Methodology.

Internships Opportunities

4

I have not applied for any internship as far now. but for research scholars, a wide area is open for internship opportunities. They just have to get the collaborations and the management will allow them to go to internships and gain valuable experience. My colleagues have gone to Taiwan, and Italy for internships and Hegel helped in their research.

Placement Experience

3.5

For BTech and MTech students there is ample opportunity for placements. They can easily get placed for high packages. For research scholars, I have not explored much of an opportunity but there is a lot of scope after completing the degree here.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the PhD program, a yearly fee of 40,000 rupees is payable. In addition, 1000 rupees each for courses need to be paid during course work registration, and during the time of thesis submission, a sum of 10,000 rupees needs to be paid as a Thesis fee. A caution deposit of Rs. 3000 is to be paid during the first year, which will be refunded. For scholars, there is a special cash award for anyone who publishes a paper within a year, 2 years, and 3 years period.

Campus Life

3.5

There are lots of actions going on on the campus. Sports, workshops, competitions, and so on. For Undergrads and Postgrads, it is easy to participate in them. But for the research scholars, there are not many events but they can participate in the college events if they want but there will be no push. The infrastructure and lab facilities are vital for research scholars. It is nominal in VIT but can improve a lot. Labs are in good condition.

Admission

For PhD course, we had an examination and also a personal interview with the panel members. The panel members were our department professors. They were looking for confident candidates to do research under their guidance. they discussed and tested my knowledge of the basics of physics. Majorly they questioned me about my Master's degree project. The selection process was genuine.

Remarks:

Worst management ever seen. They always look forward for money and not on future of students. They only need money even in this covid pandermic situation they look into collection of fees. The labs in our college are worst with no chemicals, the machinaries are not in working condition, no safety measures. Not even simple basic requirement for the lab. Even the class room are worst, no fan, light, its really hard to study in that class. We had given a lot of complaints to management and they are not interested in any of that
