Miss my college day!

Overall managemnt is good and supportive. You won't find thing like ragging in the campus. Their are few restriction in campus, but overall its good.

I got direct admission without any entrance test. I choose this because by that time it was having quite a good ranking in Punjab. I opt for Mechanical Engineering branch.

I went through the course details for example what are subjects they are going to cover in 4 years, how was it compare to other relevant entities, how was the faculty. I did some basic research even before i went for admission. And i found the whole subjects were inline with my requirement.

University does not provide any internship on their own. But students have an option to opt for the internship outside the university, in any of the relevant field and company.

Most of the companies visit for ITs and management students. For mechanical yes companies do come for placement, but ratio will be too low as compare to IT. Same is the case for other branches. Electronicsand communication, biotechnology, Architecture and other branches i have seen hardly any company.

Their are n number of events happen at university. Univeristy itself organise its most famous event Unity in diversity, where in students from all across the India from with in the campus, participate and show the uniqueness of theri culture. Apart from this celebrity visit frquently to promote their movies and shows.

Fee structure is on the higher side. Till my time it was 40K INR per semester and now it has gone up to 100K INR per semester. Also, hostel charges are quite high. It varies from 50K to 80K INR, depends upon the number of people going to share a room. You have to pay hostel fee once a year and semester fee in advance before starting of next semester.

Scholarship option is their in the university, it all depends upon the marks that one have achieved in their Secondary level + marks in the entrance test. They offer upto 70% of scholarship. but this percentage keep on changing year on year. Loan facility is also available, they have tie-up with all the major banks, wherein individual can get the laon based on their financial needs.

Campus life is quite happening, you will find people from different part of India, even out India. Their are many students from African and middle east countries. Campus is quite large in area and same is the students strength. So you will never find campus in a silent mode, students keep on roaming with in the campus for lectures, eatries and for other stuff.

Hostel facilities are basic, where in you will get a bed with matress an almira and a sharing washrom with attached toilet. Food in the mess is not good. It is just a decent food. But once you are in you will be habitual to that. You find much of variety in food. Overall its Ok. Because of these reason student also look for a PG somehwere outside the campus.

At my time their was no such thing. But now they have strengthen the alumni network and are organising alumini fest in the university and also outside university, where ever they have majority number of Alumni. Even out of India they are organising Alumini meet to keep the team updated and make a strong network.

Exam structure is good, i won't say they are tuff. Things are inline with what ever we have been taught in the class. Overall structure remain similar what we see in school exams, few ques with more than 300 word, few with short answer type and than ques for 100 to 150 words answer. overall structure depends upon the subject.

I went to university, enquired about the course and seats. They offered me the seat in my desired trait. Then they reviewed my documents, i did the payment process and finally, i was in. Whole process was easy not too messy. It take ahrdly few hours for complete process.

Most of the teachers were post graduated from IITs or IIMs. This was a plus point. Especially Dean of LPU, they way they give lectures was awesome. Faculty was quite friendly and also bounded by the rules and regulations of the University. But most of the staff was helpful.
