Remarks

College management is always active. Bad remarks for NIEC is. Only that it is never able to provide quality placement to students for their better future and engineers that graduate from doesn't possess any technical knowledge because their staff and teachers are not trained enough to produce quality engineers. The good remark is that you will experience nice college life and can have a lot of friends and masti which is of no use.

Entrance Preview

I gave IIT, GGSIPU, BITS, UPES exams after my 12th. Luckily I cleared 2 of them UPES Dehradun, GGSIPU CET. I took admission in NIEC GGSIPU based on my ranking that was around 19000 around and the college was near to my home and also has mechanical and automation branch. It was the best available option at that time that's why I chose NIEC.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

I was in the evening batch of mechanical and automation engineering so most of the lab timings were around 3pm and after that. There was no research only practicals and like school you have to maintain file for internals as well as externals. So many subjects and not so proper teachers.

Internships Opportunities

No our college didn't provide any internship. They provide training to second year students like inhouse training of autocad and solid works for 2nd year students of a week but no internship and no industrial exposure.

Placement Experience

0.5

Placements are poor in mechanical and automation branch. I suggest very poor. In the final year you came to know that you are on your own and placements were there or no mechanical industry or any good company is visiting to hire. Infosys was only big recruiter that comes and place students from all branches. Placement record from infosys in the year 2017 was 77 only out of 700 students. It contains 2 -4 students of mechanical from a batch of 180 students.

College Events

4

College fest naned Innoviz is celebrated every year around march. Other than that there are tech fest in which various innovations and projects get displayed out of all branches. Some events from IEEE society of colleges also happens. Biggest attraction is only 3 days long college fest Innoviz and previous that that is sports day. During that you notice various dance forms, performances, stage shows, celebrity like miling gaba etc etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive, it's around 1.15-1.25lacs depending on branch and year. It was the complete waste because there is no placement provided which is the most important thing if you are spending 5 lacs as a fee in 4 years. It is very expensive for an average family and I suggest to not go for this because there are the lot more options out there. One should always go for government college rather than these private colleges

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't know about scholarships because my family paid my fees but yes there is some sort of off for SC and ST.

Campus Life

3.5

campus life is very good if you make friends and participate in societies. Various cultural and technical societies are there to make your campus life amazing Canteen is also good in terms of food and space. Gender ration is unfair. More boys compare to girls because it's an engineering college. Parties oh yes during the first year as a fresher party and in final year as the farewell. Diversity is not so different. Most of the crowd is from Delhi. Sports competitions are there. Robotics, electrical, drama, fashion, acting, dance, social societies are there. Workshop for the mechanical branch where projects like BAHA, SUPRA, EFFI-CYCLE, gokart are going throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

No hostel facilities. Students have to stay in pgs if they are from other states. Pgs are available easily but the area around college is not so good. Food is also there in most of the pgs and you will get the stay around 3k per bed per month means you have to share the room with others.

Alumni/Alumna

If you ask for help you will always get the help and support from seniors. Every senior respect their junior in college as well as in the societies. There is a good network to seniors.

Exam Structure

Exams were easy if you are writing a lot and have a decent knowledge of the subject. External teachers that come from other colleges must insult you for their timepass and ask you any questions but you always get decent score in practicals and labs. Labs were not frequent and merely a timepass for students but you can handle all these flow of exams easily. Toughest thing is if they give your centre at far locations.

Admission

the admission was in several steps. To confirm your admission through GGSIPU entrance you have to submit certain amount of money at the initial stage then visit the college to submit the various marksheets and form requirements and then then at final stage you have to submit the total amount of 1st year for that particular college and they will assign you the enrollment number and confirm your final admission. The process was little tedious.

Faculty

1.5

First year faculty was tough, hardworking, possessing a good knowledge but later on the professors were only ok. Not so qualified and hardworking except one or two. Lazy staff and lecturers. They never focus on the students and never have vision to produce quality engineers. Only one or two out of 10 teachers possess a good amount of subject knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements are in good terms, many students get a placement with nice package. Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd Semester. TCS made about 7 offers as far as I know. One can expect the highest package of 2.5crore and an average of 200000. About 80% of students gets placement because of the skills they learned wheres the rest 20% are only at college to do mischievous acts. After getting the degree, I will find a job and then after enough capital I will start my own startup.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
