The best technical college for an overall individual development

There is never anything bad about this college other than the location. Pilani is a very interior village with just BITS Pilani there. The only things outside the campus are a Police Station, a Hospital by BIRLA, and CEERI Pilani. But who cares, everythin

BITSAT is an online entrance test. I scored 346/450. BITS Pilani is the number one private college second only to some premium IITs in India.

BITS Pilani follows an american method of education. There are no attendance and the students have an option to schedule their own time table.

The college provides two internships over the 4 years of education. The first one is during the summer break of 2nd year, i.e. after the 4th semester. This is an 8 weeks internship. The stipends are NIL. Only a few companies offer stipends for this. The second internship is an a semester long internship in the 7th or 8th semester as per the student opting for the same. The internship stipend ranges from 10K INR to 3000 USD per month. There are international internships also offered. The internships are offered based on the CGPA. Both the internships are called Practice School I and II respectively.The companies which offer are the likes of CISCO, Juniper Networks, ST Microelectronics, Dreamworks Animation USA, World Bank, etc.

BITS Pilani enjoys 100% placements every year. Being the most premium technical school of the country, it gets offers from consulting firms such as McKinsey, KPMG, Deloitte, and Oil exploration companies such as Schlumberger, Shell, etc., PSUs such as IOCL, BPCL, BHEL, BEL, NTPC, etc. and a lot of other private firms. The average offer stands at around 7-8 lacs per annum.

OASIS is the annual cultural festival and APOGEE is the international annual tech fest. BOSM is the annual sports meet. All these events get participation from hundreds of students from across the country and abroad. The sponsorship for these events go as high as 30 Lacs INR.

The fee structure was less earlier when I studied with just 20K INR per semester. But now the fee has increased to as high as 1.25 Lacs INR. Students usually take a loan. But considering the ROI and the brand equity of BITS Pilani, the investment is worth it. Also the top 10%ile of the students get a full fee waiver and a scholarship. There are a lot of other scholarships on offer from the very active alumni association BITSAA International.

Campus life is the most awesome one you can ever find anywhere in India. It is literally a student run campus. Everything is managed by the student clubs and departments. I always cherish the 4 years I spent at Pilani campus. BITSMemories which flood the Facebook during our BITSians' Day is a clear proof of the awesome campus life. World class labs, Gym, Sports Complex, Audi, Library. Everything is just awesome and beyond words.

Each student gets a single room. The rooms are well maintained. There are a lot of opportunities and facilities for recreational activities in each hostel. Mess is available for all the student. The mess bills per month averages to approximately 2K INR. R

One of the best alumni network is the best competitive advantage that BITSians have. Facebook groups help each other. BITSAA International is a vast networked organization with a registration in over 40 countries and manages the official work over the cloud and virtual networks.

The system followed is a continuous evaluation system. There are tutorials every week after a particular topic lecture is conducted. Every week the tutorial will have a quiz, which comes to around 10-12 quizzes for each subject across the semester. 10 bes
