The story of LPU

The duration of this course is 4 years and follows a semester system. The first semester includes subjects physics, mathematics, English, and chemistry with lectures, tutorials and practical classes and every week there are 4 classes each, mechanics laboratory and thermal physics laboratory. Faculty members are very supportive and every student has their own mentor for personal interactions. All the faculties are well qualified and have good experience in teaching. I chose this course to learn more about fundamental and complex physics and its applications. Each semester includes four CA(continuous assessment), two before midterm exams and two after midterm exams. Then at the end of the semester, there are End Term Examinations. A semester covers 6 units in each subject.

From the first year only, students are offered internships in many companies and organisations based on their interests, academic performance and abilities. Students can even do research on different topics and even get patents for them.

Every year 100+ companies, like Google, amazon, Flipkart, Infosys, Bosch etc. Visit the university to recruit students for different posts and internships. From 3rd year students become eligible for placements. The highest package received till now by a student is 60 lakhs which was later on upgraded to 3 crores. The average package is 7 lakh rupees per annum for btech students.

The fee for this course is, 50000rs per semester, thus 100000 per year. On the basis of LPUNEST, scholarships are awarded to students from 5% to 60% relaxation in academic fees. The students can also take loans at minimal interest rates that are provided by finance companies brought by the university

With a greater number of students from all over the world, life on campus might seem a little busy, but still, it's more interesting in its own way. After completing the admission process, the students are introduced to the University's faculty, infrastructure and rules and regulations in the 3-day induction programme which includes basic information on the University and its faculties, cultural programmes, campus and city tours. The university has a big central Library with thousands of books covering all the subjects and courses. The university has a separate building for club and co-curricular activities that would help students to seek out their talents.

Hostel facilites are overall good . Here we are provided with mess , laundary , sanitary and electrical devices breakdown facilities. In mess one can choose the number of meals he/she want to have in a day and the type of food he/she wants to eat. Registeration process is done on the same day of reporting to college. The hostel provides 2/3/4/5/6-seater , AC/Non-AC rooms with separate charges and limited free electricity.

One can be admitted to LPU Jalandhar to pursue a B.Sc Hon. Physics after appearing for the University's entrance test,i.e, LPUNEST, if he has scored more than 75% in 12th Board Exams with min—60% aggregate marks in each subject. One can even apply for the same with his/her CUET scores. To pursue this course, English as a subject in 12th standard is a must. The admission process after clearing the LPUNEST is smooth, one only has to report to the university on the assigned date with his/her documents as mentioned by the University.
