Likes
- Teachers behaviour is outstanding. They are really supportive and helpful. Especially in Botany Department teachers are really talented and knowledgeable. Their patience and care towards students are really good.
- NCC. NCC is most important thing in Sir Syed College. It provide very good moments to cadets. In every program NCC cadets are the major attraction and main security.
- Library. Library have a lots of books, publications and other magazines. They provide a peaceful atmosphere in library. Inside library also reading room, computer room and a writer's corner provide.
Dislikes
- Politics. College management only support one political party and always tries to remove the other parties from campus.
- Building structure. It's like a room. When enter the campus we can only exit through the same gate.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I love nature and I am really interested in plants. In this college above 2100 students and 62 teachers. Each and every teacher completes their Post-graduation with a high mark or rank. Many of them completed their Ph.D. and some of the teachers are currently working on it. Teaching methods are strictly traditional methods. Provide notes, conduct exams, ask questions, etc. Term exams are conducted by Kannur University. In every 6 months. It's actually a semester system. Also, internal tests conducted by college faculties are really easy.
Fees and Financial Aid
Actually, fees are not that much high. Because they provide very good teachers, library and ambiance. Admission fee, semester exam fee, semester fee, and PTA fund are present here. Many Muslim merit scholarships are provided by colleges. Also, BPL scholarships are provided here. There is no campus placement. Because it's not a professional college.
Campus Life
There is no tech fest. The annual fest is arranged at the end of every academic year. A large Library with lots of books. Various kinds of books, publications, magazines, etc. are available in the library. Also, we can easily find books using the computer. Sports days are conducted by the college but it's not that effective. They only provide importance in men's football. Other extracurricular activities are NCC and NSS. Both have done their work perfectly. NCC has two seperate wings. One for boys and the other one for girls. It's a specialty. So 100 students can participate in NCC at a time. There is a social troll group run by students on Facebook. It's Sir Syed Trolls. It's very famous in college.
Admission
It's an aided college so half of the seats are filled by the government and the other half by management. The government selection process is only through allotment based on the marks in higher secondary. Management seats are also through an allotment system, but management seats they want a high fee. Every single seat needs above 50000. Also, they need exam fees and PTA funds.
