Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of the brand value of the Indian Institute of Technology Indian School of Mines when it comes to Earth Science-related fields. The student-faculty ratio varies but for my course, it is quite good. The faculty are very knowledgeable and helpful and the exams are conducted in a timely manner

Various companies like sprinkler, google, Microsoft, jaguar etc. come to our college for intern opportunities. We also have core companies like Vedanta, Tata Steel etc Projects vary depending on what you wish to pursue.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 7th semester. Various companies like Google, amazon, microsoft etc visit us for IT sectors and even in core sectors we have companies like Tata Steel, ONGC etc visit every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Fee structure is good considering it is an IIT and many different Scholarships and help can be availed depending on the income. If you are below a certain income line the institute helps you with scholarships like MCM.

Campus Life

Life is good on campus. We have spacious rooms, a large library, ACs in our classes etc. Sports and Extracurricular activities are also promoted and you can join various cultural clubs depending upon your hobbies.

Admission

I applied through JOSAA seat allocation and my course was decided based on the preference I filled. The application form can be found on the official website and subsequent info is available there. The Admission process is good enough as it is.

INSIGHTS OF BIT MESRA

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem onwards students are able to face placements. Comapnies such as ZS, Deloite AB in bev microsoft visa comes here and normally takes 1-3 students. The highest package may vary from 40-50 lakhs and average is 4-5 lakhs. Internships opportunities are quite low here. In chemical enginnering only till now out of 120 students 20-30 got placed including out of campus palcements. I am hoping to do mba after pursuing the degree as there is less comapny visit for core branches.

Great college if the money is not a problem for you!!

Placement Experience:

Placements are good for core branches here at Bit mesra, as compared to other colleges, about 90% students got placed as per I know from seniors, the highest core package is around 20 LPA, main top recruiting companies for core chemical are reliance, jindal and many more!

From 5th sem students are eligible for placement. Name of the company I forgot but nvidia amazon comes each year and take some students Paypal offered 4 students 28 lpa and Swiggy gave 2 students 35 lpa Nvidia gave 2 students 25 lpa Highest package data is not out as of now Avg is good this year I guess it's was 12-13 lpa Percentage is I guess reality 60/150

Raw and real side of NIT JSR

Placement Experience:

One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package. For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year. Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik. I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
