Course Curriculum Overview

I was literally poor in economics in schooling that's why I took that course. Now I'm a topper of the 2013 - 2016 batch. Faculties are well supporting to take bettering ourself. And they are such a good person in teaching skills.

Class Size: 46Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Internships Opportunities

HDB Financial Services offered internships for me the stipend was only 7k at that time. But now they are giving a good package for freshers. It was very helpful to grow my career. Internship days are very memorable.

Placement Experience

3rd years students are only eligible for campus placements. Private sector companies only visited. Offers around 20 to 25 were made. The highest average package is 3L per annum. Out of 46, 25 students are getting placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Ya I received a yearly scholarship of around 9k to 11k. It was very helpful for me. The study cost was too low. I got a job at HDB Financial. But I rejected it because I want to study for a master's degree that's why.

Campus Life

Annual fest are so enjoyable. It was the happiness part of my college days. In sports cricket & kabbadi were literally made pride for our college. In every finals our kabaddi team only won the prize.

Admission

It was a simple process only. I joined in under the reservation benefit. college teaching was very good and also encouraged sports students. Fees were very low. Around 5k is only charged per year. All 3rd group students are eligible for this course.

Life at PSGCAS

Placement Experience:

The placements were okay in our college, it starts from the second year onwards in respect to diff degree. For economics it starts from 5th semester onwards. There were many companies who visited including goldman sachs, deloitte, zoho, tcs, accenture etc. and the package starts from 1,20,000 to 12,00,000 rupees per annum.

Unrevealing the life at Thiagarajar college

Placement Experience:

Our college provides placement. At first they will conduct some training programme for those students who are all interested and paid fee for placements after that based on the performance of the students in the interviews they got selected. Companies like Accenture and many others come forward. The percentage of the students getting placed is depends on good performance. I planned to look forward for some jobs by cracking some exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics,python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
