Festivals nd celevrations occur a lot.
Seniors are supportive nd the sweetest.
Professors teach well.

Dislikes

College staff are really friendly too..The security guards look out for u always.
There are nice gardens nd college is cleaned well on a daily basis.
The principal is nice too.

Course Curriculum Overview

I want to dedicate my future years to contributing to the field of psychology, helping society overcome mental difficulties. ensure happiness and progress in mankind because I believe it's our mind whose well-being decides improvement in other aspects of mankind. I want to help as many as I can to reach their utmost potential. The faculty is good. A few professors are not fit to be professors but the majority are great mentors. They are understanding. Most of the faculty members are either a doctorate or are pursuing it currently.

Class Size: 34Course Fees: INR 8000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study is average and might be unaffordable for PPL living below the poverty line. Other than that stuff is fine. damn it. gotta say more on this okay. so I am not updated abt any fees hike and yes students' guardians who don't have a government job can't opt for scholarships. They get thousands deposited in their bank account every month or so. I haven't opted for that policy, however.

Campus Life

The library is excellent. You can find all sorts of authors there And there are departmental as well as central libraries. I would have really liked it tho if they also had stories and novels in their library. The annual fest is conducted a few days after every fresher. probably in Dec or Jan.Intercollege quiz competitions and sports competitions also take place. Also fun activities like camping or environmental campaign trips.

Admission

The admission process was quite easy, all carried out online. However, candidates were given only a few hours to decide if they wanted to get admitted or not after the release of the merit list. It was notified that if they didn't pay the fees within a day, no admission will be carried out for them. So personally, that was something that felt really inconvenient. Other than that verification of documents etc. all were done well.

It's far away from my home and I would hv needed to regularly travel on train so it is time and energy consuming thus wasn't allowed to go to this college by my guardian.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements.
