I love the lush green campus life at NIT Jamshedpur
We have well managed and planned academics.
Placement here is beyond expectations.Every one have a single offer at the end of degree

Dislikes

Library open only 9am-8pm in a day only and Sunday is off
Our campus is open campus,so we have lot of restrictions
Academic schedule is tough.we have lot of 5-6 hour in a day

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is based on new education policy which is too much learning and practical based. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:25. Here every faculty holds a Ph.D. in their respective domain. Exams happen here twice a semester. First is mid-sem of 30 marks and end-sem of 50 marks and the teacher assessment of 20 marks

Class Size: 110Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

We have a lot of internship opportunities at our college. A lot of companies visited 6-month and 2-month internship programs with also having pre-placement offers if performed well in an internship. Generally, the role depends on the company, mostly they offer graduate engineer trainee roles.

Placement Experience

The placement of our college is awesome. Generally, students of 7 semesters are eligible for placement. Companies visited in our college are Atlassian, Flipkart, Amazon, tata steel, etc. The highest CTC offered by Atlassian is 83 lpa. Generally, 95% of students got placement in every branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

In every semester we have to pay 62500/- for the institute fee and 25500/- for the institute fee. As the fee is decided by MHrd so there is no such fee hike. coming to the scholarship aspects college doesn't provide any scholarship based on academic achievement.

Campus Life

Life on the campus is energetic and warm. The name of the annual fest is culfest and it is conducted in the month of Feb. We have a lot of book collections in the library and access to the e-journal. We have all the basic amenities available in class.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is good. Everyone is allotted a single room with an attached balcony. The registration process for a hostel is easy and done supervisor at the beginning of every semester. we have a mega mess have a capacity of 500 people at a time can sit.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

The admission process is smooth and easy. I have given JEE Main examination in which I got approx. 35000 rank after which I participated in counseling of jossa in which I got civil engineering at NIT Jamshedpur.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
