Likes

Hostel life was good, we have many facilities.
Placements are quite okay with many diversified companies.
We have a good academic building having well AC rooms.

Dislikes

Library is not opened on sundays which basically restrict students.
Academic culture is quite strict nowadays.
Open campus creates an unsafe environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen a course in civil engineering as I was a little fascinated by civil engineering structures and I have heard about many examinations including UPSC ESE which has very efficient job structures. And the quality of faculties is quite good but one should focus on their self-studies.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are quite promising these days. Even I got an internship opportunity at Tata steel UISL ( JUSCO) and I got a pre-placement offer there. Companies in the noncore domain are quite promising.

Placement Experience

We have a good pool of companies in the IT domain. Specifically talking about civil engineering we have many companies in both non-core and core sectors. We have bad internship opportunities in 3rd year specifically talking about the civil engineering branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have many scholarships like E Kalyan, PMS, medhaavi, and NSP for people of category General, OBC, SC, and ST. I took PMS which is for Bihar candidates only having the criteria of having parental income less than 2.5 lakh.

Campus Life

Campus life is quite average but one can make it more engaging by inducting into various clubs which include Ruuh, faces, CES, Invicta, BTBS, Aahwahan, Phoenix, and many technical teams with E cell, Tap-Cell, And many more cells.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are the best in NIT Jamshedpur which provides double bedrooms for first-year students, and single bedrooms for the rest years. Having the facilities of balcony in Hostel J and Hostel K. We have a mega mess or full capacity of 1800 students.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

The admission process was quite simple and efficient as I was in the online mode which basically can't describe much about the offline mode of admission. I'll be briefing you about my admission process. Firstly I got a notification from the official website of nit Jamshedpur which governs us to a Google form through which I have paid all the required fees for the 1st semester. Then admission happened with submitting all the required documents like Adhaar card, pan card of mother, father, and the candidate. It was quite a simplistic experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
