Course Curriculum Overview

This course is one of the oldest and best courses in Nit Jamshedpur which provides great exposure to civil engineering. There are around 10 professors for 110 students including the elective subjects which we opted for before the start of our final year. The teaching method is both online and offline according to the faculties. The mid and end-semester exams are conducted regularly without delay.

Class Size: 110Course Fees: INR 62500 per year

Internships Opportunities

The companies which come for internships are NHAI, axel advisory ExxonMobil which gives 20000, 40000, and 30000 respectively. There are several projects which are progressing in our college for example There is a hostel in the making.

Placement Experience

The companies start to come after the end of the sixth semester. The highest package this year is grabbed by computer science students in the company called Atlassian with a ctc of 83lpa. There are many companies which visit our college such as Deloitte, Lnt, Exxon Mobile, o9 solutions and so on.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very strict and doesn't change a bit during the semesters. The scholarships are also provided by the government such as Nsp and Ekalyan which helps students a bit in filling the fees.

Campus Life

There are 3 fests which are held at nit Jamshedpur. They are Urja, the sports fest second is Culfest, the cultural fest, and Ojass which is the technical fest. The library is filled with books including the reservation section and they provide more than one book to issue.

Hostel Facilities

The most appreciating facility is the single room provided by the college for 2nd 3rd and 4th year students. The mess food is average. The registration process in a hostel is through the hostel accommodation form which is taken every year.

Hostel Fee: INR 15000 per year

Admission

The admission process was through Josaa which was the basis of percentile and rank which we got in jee main. There were 6 rounds of counseling followed by a csab round in which I got civil engineering in 6th round and after that, we did the payment of 35000 through josaa to lock in our seats, and then further formalities were made by us.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
