Likes

I liked about this college is its hostel and mess and also the academic
The classes are too big which can accomodate almost 300 peoples
The room is quite spacious and there is a cricket playground

Dislikes

For core branches classes are very high as compared to the no core branches

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and the faculty members are also good they will teach from the basic to advanced level of engineering. They are cheerful. The male-to-female ratio is 1:5 . Exams are held on time.

Internships Opportunities

Nhai offers internships for students in 3rd year with a stipend of 20000. Also, different non-core companies provide internships with a good stipend. We have to make a project in the Internship. And then we have to submit the project to the college.

Placement Experience

Students from 3rd year get 2 months Internship and from 4th year they are eligible to seat for placement in different roles. Different companies with different profiles visited this college like Google Amazon LinkedIn etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very high as compared to other nits. Because of the new academic building. There we have lots of new equipment for good studies but I think the cost is pretty high. There are many scholarships provided for backward students as well as for general students.

Campus Life

There are two fests conducted each year. One is culfest which is a cultural festival where different colleges participate and celebrity also comes and another one is ojjas which is a technical fest in which different technical teams competes.

Admission

My course is 4 year btech in civil engineering. You can join this college by clearing jee mains. You will get a rank of 30000 to get secure a branch in civil engineering. This is the best college for placement.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
