Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The syllabus was the best notable gem of my college. All the topics were updated and the faculties taught very efficiently. They tried to relate the topics with the current situations around us and those helped me to grasp the topics and study very well. The college has an effective ratio of faculties and even non-teaching staff with the strength of students. While talking about the exams we had, there were two-term exams and the questions asked are very related to the topics themselves. A good student who had listened to classes can easily clear the exam.

Internships Opportunities

5

As my subject was zoology we were supposed to do our internship in Economic zoology. Our department itself has to give us the opportunity to find the best institute by ourselves or if we dont want our college itself to help to get the best. We were doing the internship in 3 phases, Dairy farming, Aquaculture, and Poultry farming. For Dairy farming, we were taken to Central Cattle Breeding Farm, Alamadhi, Red Hills, Chennai. It was a central government center and we had a 7 working day experience there.

Placement Experience

4

The college has a separate wing for taking care of placements and training. They will be providing the students with placement updates and training too. The students who are in the final semester will be eligible for applying for a placement. There are many companies like TCS, HCL, Deloitte, Byjus, etc. a lot of national and multinational companies conducting their interviews and selecting the students. As I hadn't applied for placements I'm not pretty sure about the salary packages and all but I have a rough idea that an average of 4 lakh per annum is available.

Fees and Financial Aid

While I look for my higher studies after higher secondary education I mainly focus on the best colleges that are not far from my native (Kerala). And I choose MCC, Presidency, and Loyola College in Chennai. And finally, I selected Loyola. One of my main concerns was about the fees and expenses of living. While I enquired about these things with the senior students they told me that Loyola will be suitable for all these requirements. In the first semester, my fee was 11,560, and around 5000 in the second semester as the classes were in online mode.

Campus Life

4

The college's greatest fest is called Ovations which will occur in the months of September-October time. It is very enjoyable and lots of the events will be occurring. Many opportunities are provided for students to showcase their talents. And on the even semester, each department will be conducting Department festivals on an inter-college basis and many students from another college will be arriving to participate. The college has a central library which has a vast collection.

Admission

I completed my Higher secondary education in the year 2020 March and it was during the Corona Lockdown time. I was searching for the best college with an adjustable fee structure and also a college that shouldn't be much distance from my homeland. Then I got struck by 2-3 colleges in Chennai, those are Loyola College, Madras Christian College, and Presidency College. When I applied to all these institutes I got selected in all these colleges. From that, I chose Loyola College because of its high ranking in NIRF and the great alumnus, the syllabus, and also the campus.

Other Applied Colleges

Madras Christian College - [MCC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Zoology)

Because Loyola is much better than MCC on the basis of syllabus and the faculties.
