Course Curriculum Overview

Basically, it was my last option and it was a field with potential, so I choose this course The faculty-student ratio is about 10:100. The faculties have very high qualifications and provide pointers and notes. We had very less time between the term exams it was so-so difficulty

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 87280 per year

Internships Opportunities

Companies basically include many govt and NGOs like Ust global, king fra, Ibm, oracle, Infosys, etc. they provide basically a package of 20000 per annum. Projects include anything based on computers if your field is focused on one then it is better.

Placement Experience

Around 6-7 sem they become eligible for campus placements. Basically, companies like ust global, Infosys, IBM, etc., and other Ngo companies are also present. The highest package is around 12 lakh per yr and the average pack is 1 lakh per annum. 90-95 percent get placement. I am planning to take a pg course at the moment thinking of taking mba at a high-standard university.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students who got fewer ranks basically have to take a management seat or nri seat for a management seat it is around 2-300000 and for NRI it is very high. The scholarship is provided for students who come in govt seats they are given min 10000 decrease in fees.

Campus Life

The annual fest and tech fest are basically conducted together around the month of June. The library contains books. The classroom has a chalkboard and a screen for projectors and fans. sports activities are conducted regularly along with other extracurricular activities as a fest. There are many opportunities and clubs which provide opportunities for students.

Admission

One should have a minimum degree for his course. We can find it on the keam site from the government of Kerala. If you get ranked in the first 10000 you get a 25-30000 fee decrease. Not only based on the keam, exam should be more based on the 12th exam result.

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

the course curriculum is lakhs relevance to modern industry demands. while it covers the basics there is minimum focus on practical skills emerging technologies and real world applications overall, the courses not comprehensive enough.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
