Entrance Preview

I wrote the klueee entrance exam for this university. I got a rank that was somewhere around 4000.My anxiety took over me and I opted for this college without actually researching anything about it.I thought it would be like every other college around AP and TS ...but god I was wrong..very wrong indeed

Course Curriculum Overview

1

If there is one thing that i can praise ...it is the way the subject is being fed to us. Every thing starts from the basics and then branches out perfect on paper..but its execution is far from atleast good. The timetable is very messy ...atleast for the freshers, our timings are very hard to understand as the first class starts at 7:30 AM ...well to be honest ..the college that i studied my intermediate starts at 9:00 in the morning and i have never been waking this early in my life since my 10th exams. The time table is very stressful for students who are not used to waking up early.

Internships Opportunities

The college surprisingly does provide internship...in the college itself. Let me be brutally honest with you guys...the interships provided by the college are next to useless. i suggest you guys to not take any of the internships or paid classes provided by the college as they can actually decrease your chances of getting placed. You wont be fed the subject ..you will be injected. I know i can sound dramatic but im not exaggerating. All the subjects are designed in a way that everything can be remembered not learned.

Placement Experience

1

It is advertised that the campus has a 100% placement but if you check the numbers you get the harsh truth.Only the students who have a cgpa that is over than 6.9 are allowed to be attended to the interviews and with all the sad and depressing study facilities in our college ....it sure is hard as hell to get atleast 6.0.

College Events

0.5

This is the thing that got me the most disgusted about my college....it does not even try or bother to stage events or fests .This is my experience...we were all hyped by seniors and faculty alike about a fest called samyak ... me and my friends were soo hyped about this happening that we actually volunteered to be the organizers of the fest. I doubted how the college would even organize such a huge crowd in such tiny space because the crowd here at klu is more than that of a population of a small village and this ultra hyped event was postponed to god knows when for a cyclone or something...even though the skies were clear blue ... and as a bonus we had an exam the next day . There is hardly any enjoyment in this college im afraid.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Okay...soooo...This college is priced very high for what it delivers ..its fee structure is on par with VIT/SRM/GITAM and other prestigious colleges . But klu failed and fails to deliver even a tenth of what other moderately priced universities have accomplished. It is very painful that this college is being promoted as the best when it is not even close to good. For your expectations after paying over 2 lacs per annum ...you will be disappointed.

Fees and Financial Aid

I think anyone scoring more than 9 points in the semester would be availed a scholarship if such sore is continued over the next semesters. Some Scholarships are based off on sports.

Campus Life

3.5

The labs are decent and have all the equipment and i really enjoy going to labs but the workshop is a mess and would probably make your shoes dirty. The computer labs for the first year students run on ubuntu and are mostly used for aimless problem solving using c language. The indoor stadium is usually crowded and the football stadium has patches of wet mud, the tennis court is always empty, volleyball is only for boys, hobby clubs are a mess. in the past 6 months ive never heard of any interesting competitions going on in the campus. Any guys or girls who like to dress up will be let down due to the strict dress code ..which is beyond lame...boys are supposed to look like school children and girls are supposed to look like married women. It actually becomes very hard in the summer as the dress code gets really uncomfortable ...vijayawada being very hot and humid..i could only imagine what girls would go through.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Hostel are fine and all the rooms are maintained well but there is one issue with these 9 storied apartment styled hostel campus for the freshers..it is that ..you cant leave the hostel after 6pm as no public transport would be available.I once had a midnight train and i had to walk for over 5km just to catch an auto.No safety measures are taken as the balconies are too easy to jump from for an overly depressed student and not only that i once saw a guy fall from the first floor by slipping and breaking his hand.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a rule here in klu that ragging is strictly prohibited . i totally agree that ragging is a bad thing .. but having separate timings for seniors and juniors so that they wont interact is a joke. It actually ruins the bond that is supposed to be between the seniors and juniors. We were clueless about the college and its features for half the time because we knew nobody who knew the college. but later when i actually met few seniors on my own interest ..they turned out to be pretty good and helpful.

Exam Structure

The exams maybe very stressfull as you have to prepare for them all by yourself...but not in my case as ive done the same thing all my life. i have seen a lot of students who were actually pretty good at studies failed in atleast one subject..which would say a lot about this so called university. it acctually makes bright kids average. Students with passion are not even given attention...and everyone needs marks like food on a curfew.

Admission

my admission process was very much hurried. i am very much interested in the mechanical engineering course and so i chose it...though most students opt for cse. The help desk ...which was meant to give info about the college and the course we had opted was a little better than useless as they only talked about placements and were giving their best to make students join this campus.the forms had to be filled and the fee had to be paid right then. the fee structure is awfully high and is usually cruel to any person from the middle class.Everything was sooo hurried ...that it was hard to process where we were being led and it was probably intended.

Faculty

1.5

Ahhhhh....the faculty..i hardly think that most of them are even qualified to teach...they lack the ability to communicate with students and are often very imposing on students. hell sometimes these soo called teachers are very rude and harsh for no reason. The faculty themselves are in for money and are empty in passion or interest. students dont connect to the faculty emotionally...and this is the most important thing that the students in this college are unknowingly missing out.We dont have the freedom to ask the faculty anything....I myself refer the Internet instead of the useless faculty..as they are nowhere as accessible or friendly as my previous teachers were.

Good is that our university is giving scholarships for meritorious students. Bad is keeping more examinations especially weekends on every monday, by this weekend exams we are not able to enjoy our sunday. Management will always encourage new talents.

Caste discrimination is very prevalent although sometimes is blatantly open most of the time its very polished act. Like staff favoring people of the prevalent caste. The management knows about this and most definitely turns a blind eye to it. Its is one the decline in the recent years but not completely out yet.
