Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I preferred Computer Science over other fields, as we know that this is an IT era. And demand for Computer Science engineers has increased a lot in the past few years. Faculty: Student ratio is approximately 1:50. All the faculties have done PHD and have vast knowledge in their respective field. Most teachers really want their students to achieve something and few are just here to sit and earn money. In a semester there are 2 types of exams: 1)minor(mid sem), 2)major(end sem). Exams are easy to pass if you have basic knowledge of any subject.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Internship opportunities are there, Amity will get you placed in any company as an intern, but there you will not get any stipend, and you will be bored. So it's better to get an internship off campus. Amity wants you to complete the internship and get the certificate within a month, even if your internship is for 2-3 months. All they want is a certificate and not how their student is working in the company and what challenges he/she is facing. In many cases, they always think about themselves and not about students.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement usually starts from the 7th sem and at the end of the 6th sem, we have to do one internship for a month or two. There are many companies who have visited Accenture, Palo Alto, Shell, Amazon, Autodesk, International companies for giving jobs abroad, Tredence, Juspay etc. High-paying companies take 3-4 students with them, and avg paying companies take 8-12 students. The highest package offered was 60LPA by Palo Alto taking 4 students. An average package is around 7LPA. Amity tries to give their 100% to ensure 100% placement, but few students have their family business and few go for higher study like MTech, MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for my course is CS are definitely high. But yes if you have scored 90% in your 12th class and maintain a 9cgpa in every sem then you can get a scholarship every semester. Internships given on campus are a waste of time, it's better to search out for yourself. Placement opportunities are good, you will get to see companies giving packages from 4.5L to 40L(approx).

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is amazing, it's just you have to walk a lot for taking classes and lifts are there but only for faculties and not for students. You can find all the books and journals in the library and can issue the book also. Classes will have ACs and projectors. In terms of sports you will find all kinds of sports here there are tennis courts, badminton courts, swimming pool, Ground, softball ground, etc. There are many clubs and social groups in our college in which students can take part.

Admission

The admission process is very simple, any student with above 60% in class 12th can take the admission. Application fees and forms can be found on Amity's site. If you have a score above 80% in your 12th class, then you will get direct admission. If you have scored above 90% then you can apply for a scholarship. And if you have scored less than 80% then you have to clear one virtual interview type round. The improvement which should be there regarding admission is that the percentage criteria should increase from 60% to 70%.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Reviewed on Nov 29, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
