Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I choose this course because I was good in Accountancy in class 11th and 12th and believe there is a huge scope for finance in today's world. The faculty members are friendly. In each semester two times exams are conducted and the exams are tough.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship I got from the college was at Nandan Steel Private Limited. The work I had to do was on Tally Prime. The internship was part of the semester, every student needed to submit internship certificate in that particular semester.

Placement Experience

2.5

From the sixth sem students starts getting placement offers. Companies visited like Wipro, Infosys etc. The highest Package offered was around 12 lakhs per annum. Around 1 out of 10 get placements here. My plan is to get a job here after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for B.Com(Hons In Accountancy) is 300000, but scholarships are available for students. The scholarship depends on the marks the students score in their 12th exam. The amount of scholarship ranges between rupees 10000 - 30000.

Campus Life

3

Annual Fest like Adinova is conducted every year. Tech fest like Signifiya is conducted during May. The library has over 100000 books. The classrooms are well-equipped and modern. Sports events like Football, Cricket, Basketball etc events take place every year.

Admission

In this college the students above 80% don't need to give entrance exams, but students who had a percentage below 80% need to give an entrance exam via online. The exam contains MCQ questions, and the students need to get minimum marks to take admission in this college. Application fees is rupess 1100. Application form is avilable online.

Placement Experience:

I'm not sure but I think from 3rd year we will be eligible for placements. There are many finance companies, banks like HDFC, SBI, Canara,etc... & companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte, PWC,etc.... The highest package last year was like 9.64 LPA & in the year before it was 10 LPA while the average is around 2-2.5 LPA. Around 20% of the total strength gets placement. Even only few % of the total strength applies for the placements. My plan is to take a placement if I can or if not then off campusing and then gather work experience & do MBA later which will give me very benifits.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I am from Commerce background so I need to make my career on this way so I choose this course . The faculty and student receive is not good the students and the faculty ratio is 10 : 5 The faculties are educated from various university and institutes they know everything but they are unable to delivered them to us as because they are some aggressive attitude. In every six months there is a semester and it is very difficult to pass if you don't study anything from the first.
