Course Curriculum Overview

NIT JAMSHEDPUR is an esteemed college. Placements are very good here. All the professors are highly qualified. Hostel and Mess facilities are available in good condition. There are two-semester exams per year.

Class Size: 110Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Placement Experience

You are eligible for placements from the 7th semester onwards. The placement scenario is very strong. 80-90 per cent of students are placed every year. You are provided with enough opportunities. The highest package goes up to 80 lakhs whereas the average package is around 10-12 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

You have to pay above 1 lakh per semester. If your family income is low(below 8 lakhs or below 1 lakhs), you are eligible for fee remission. Also, many govt based scholarship opportunities are provided during the course.

Campus Life

You can find social life quite attractive here. There are many clubs and teams for different categories like cultural clubs and technical teams. The annual fest is conducted. The library is in quite nice condition.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel fees are approximately 30000 per year. No AC or cooler is there. Mess is attached to hostels. Meal quality is quite nice. You will be provided with fans, bulbs, table, chair, bed. Girls are not provided with single accomodation while boys have.

Admission

Any candidate qualified senior secondary school exam is eligible. Admission through clearing JEE MAINS Counselling through JOSAA Application fees for female candidates and OBC/SC/ST are minimal. Reservations are provided during college and branch selection

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
