Entrance Preview
IIT JEE, the best engineering colleges in India. My score was 216/480 and rank was 4438. IITs are known for the quality education they provide and for the research. That was my main inspiration to be an IITian and being IITian itself is proud moment because of the toughest exam in India. Once the results of IIT JEE are out, students are called for counselling and during counselling, they are asked to opt for courses available at various iits. The list is scrutinised as per no of seats available and the merit of the student.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I opted was Computer Science and Engineering. 04 years of BTech in all basic computer courses, The first year courses include Physics, Mathematics, Engineering Drawing, Chemistry, Basic Computing. The first semester also includes the physics, chemistry and Engineering Drawing practicals. The sec sem has basic Computing and a lab course. Electronics with lab course. Sec year onwards the core engineering subjects start. They include databases, computer networks, algorithms, computer graphics, basic computer architecture, software engineering, distributed systems etc.
Internships Opportunities
I did my internship at CDAC Bangalore. It was unpaid intern and I opted it because it involved project on my favourite subject Computer Networks. Other private companies generally pay for interns and avg is 10k.
Placement Experience
As the college is am IIT, generally the placements are 100%. Not with standing some best companies that's come for placement include Microsoft(16lpa) Amazon(16lpa) Bank Bazaar(12lpa) Flipkart(12 lpa) etc.
College Events
College hosts Reverberance(in house cultural fest) techn(in house technical fest) anwesha(Techno-cult fest) which includes technical coding competitions, robotics, cultural competitions etc. Where students from all over India participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure for the period 2008-12 was 28k per semester and mess fee of 2k per month and fee was affordable. The fee also depends on the category of the student. For SC/ST candidates the fee used to be 3k per months and mess fee remained same. Compared to the engineering colleges outside and the standard of academics iits provide, the fee is very much affordable and in fact it can rated as the best that can get in that range.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship was available for economically backward students on merit basis. In that case, the whole fee is reimbursed.
Campus Life
The college has various clubs and each club recruits members from freshers. The secretaries are selected through college elections. These clubs conduct various events which involves environment awareness, dance competitions, debates, elcutions etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities include free WiFi internet connectivity, indoor table tennis facilities, TV room for all the students and no additional fee to be paid for these. The 2k paid is only for food.
Alumni/Alumna
I am a pass out from first batch of IIT Patna and I help all my juniors in this extent. I have guided and motivated many young students to prepare for iitjee and what exactly the students are expected to do for getting into it and what kind of exposure students get by studying over there.
Faculty
All the faculty were Ph.D Scholars from renowned institutes in the world and Ph.D is must for all the faculty members and the knowledge level of the professors is exceptionally high.
