- The size of the room we're given in 1st year was very small and pretty congested for 2 students
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose biomedical over any other branches because I always wanted to be a doctor, at the same time I love maths too, and I'm very much interested in biology and want to give something to the medical field by acquiring the knowledge of engineering and help improve to provide the best facilities that we have. Faculty to student ratio is quite well in our institute. There are a bunch of faculties with very high achievements, who are always there to help us. Coming to the teaching method, some of them are quite experienced in teaching for almost more than 20 years and some are good enough to make you just understand the topics. So it depends upon the individual's grasping power. There's a proper schedule provided by the institute for all the events and examinations listed down there and it's easy to pass but hard to maintain a good score. So you have to study regularly to score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
NIT provides a good number of internships to students inside and outside of our campus. You can even work as a fellow researcher under the guidance of professors. They will give projects and tasks regarding your branches and you'll have to work on and submit that during the intern month. You may get a stipend depending on the type of internship you're doing.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of our campus is very good. Around 6th semester, you will be asked to sit for campus placements. There are quite a good number of companies visiting our campus such as Airtel, Accenture, Amazon and other well-renowned companies visit our campus for recruitment. The highest on-campus package varies each and every year from 45 LPA to more than 60 LPA and the average package remains around 10 to 15 LPA. More than 90% of students getting placed in companies are from circuital branches and core placements are also good on our campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is pretty decent and varies for different groups of students belonging to general or reserved quotas. You can apply for scholarships throughout the year by regularly checking them online. Scholarships are provided mostly to the reserved quota students. Some scholarship schemes provide financial aid to students that have a family income less than required. You can work and research under the guidance of professors in the area of your interests as a fellow researcher and can get a monthly stipend.
Campus Life
Campus life is something you will never stop talking about your whole life. You can discover an immense amount of students involved in different activities on campus. We have an annual tech fest called Innovision around the mid-October and an annual cultural fest called Nitrustav around March and we do celebrate many festivals throughout the year. The library is very good with proper air conditioning and well-picked books and journals that you can explore. We have an annual sport called Vriddhi every year and Inter Nit sports competition too. There are various technical and cultural clubs actively participating in all the events that occur on our campus. You can explore the area of your interest by taking part in all the club events and competitions. There are some websites for students to take part in the annual fests and many more made and run by the students of our campus.
Hostel Facilities
You have 2 seated rooms for Btech students. They provide proper beds and study tables. You have a LAN network port given in respected rooms and hygiene is properly well maintained every day. The meal quality varies from day to day. You can have very good meals on weekends particularly and kind of ok meals the rest of the days. You'll have to report to your allotted hostels during the time of admission and registration will be held there.
Admission
Eligibility requires a person to take physics, chemistry and maths after the 10th class and give JEE examination after the 12th. You can find the details about it on the official site of JEE. Reservation is there for some backward castes except the general caste. You can check that from the official site of JEE itself. Improvements I wanna see in the admission process are that institutes should let us know about a detailed procedure of what to do and what not to do, Just not only the list of documents required.
