Remarks
summing up this is an awesome college with all-around activities, practical learning, the best infrastructure, and the best place for the engineers so that they can excel in everything showcasing their talents.
Entrance Preview
VIT has its own entrance exam and I wrote that exam, I got the ranking of 763(approx) I don't remember but I had got somewhere near that, I was interested in mechatronics so I took up mechatronics since this was a field which was unique and the one which had the future scope, I was also much more interested in MEMS. There was no interview process to get admitted to VIT.
Course Curriculum Overview
the course which I chose was pretty good, there was pretty much scope given on practical learning we had some of the best labs and the college encouraged students to spend their time in the labs so that they could play out with the things around and they could learn something new, Yes there were lots of research initiatives taken in the college. there were lots of elective options in the college.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college supports the internships, in fact, the college itself provides the internships it acts as a medium between the students and the companies giving the internships taking the GATE and the first two offers of the class. The stipend amount will be almost 8000INR per month which will be provided by the college.
Placement Experience
Speaking about the placement I would say the placement cell in VIT is very active and it tries its best to get the students placed, almost 70-80% of the students used to get placed, But for the mechatronics, we rarely used to get the core companies coming for the placement. The companies coming were siemens, Deloitte, Philips, etc; there were lots of companies coming to hire the students. average package is 6-10 lakhs.
College Events
I would like to say FEST THE BEST, almost one lakh people used to come and gather during the fests, The fest named RIVIERA which was held for 4-5 days this would include both the cultural and the technical events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I had paid 95000INR per year in VIT, it was quite affordable compared to the other colleges since this college provided the best labs and with good infrastructure, The 95K was including the tuition fees and all the other stuff.
Fees and Financial Aid
yes the college provides scholarships, even I received the scholarship for the hostel I got a scholarship of 15000INR, the college provides the same for the needy, useful, talented students.
Campus Life
VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY the perfect place for engineers to enhance their overall development qualities. there were lots of extracurricular and the college provided a lot of opportunities for the students to bring out their inner talents, there was a national conference every month and almost 2-3 papers were published.
Hostel Facilities
I stayed in the hostel, We had to pay 84,000-86,000 per year for the AC rooms and 20,000 less for the non-AC rooms. The food was the best thing in VIT they provided good food, there were 2,3,4 sharing rooms in the hostel. The hostel was cleaned in proper intervals.
Alumni/Alumna
yes there was a good alumni committee in VIT where we got an opportunity to interact with them
Exam Structure
There were only two internals held in VIT and the average of these two internals were taken and, there was only one subject per subject, Well actually the exams schedule depends upon the faculties however they wanted they could schedule the exams so it was kinda chill culture.
Faculty
The faculties in VIT are well qualified, almost all were Ph.D. holders, rarely they hired the freshers and the experienced faculties were hired for the convenience of students, the faculties were pretty much interactive and they did their best to convey their experience and well qualified, good teaching par with IIT's.
