Course Curriculum Overview
I am doing this course as this is a professional course, which has huge opportunities after graduation itself. A number of facilities are there, each faculty teaches different topics. Faculties are ophthalmologists, with tutors who are post-graduate in the field of optometry. In the past few years the term exams are not happening on time due to covid, some sessions are delayed, but everything is getting back on track slowly.
Internships Opportunities
Our course is a 4-year course, which includes one year of compulsory internship at aiims, which is paid. Interns are posted in Opds, wards, labs, etc, getting very good clinical exposure and experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is almost null. You have to pay a sum of 400 rupees for the whole 4 years and 25 rupees at the time of registration. So in total its only 425 rupees. Students get a 500 per month stipend in the first three years of academics and then 13940/- INR per month in the internship.
Campus Life
The annual AIIMS optometry explorer is there which is organized by the optometry student association, I myself served as the vice president of the association for 1 year. Lecture theatres are very good, same is used for ophthalmology PG students. BB Dixit library is there for students. The annual sports meet is there.
Admission
