Course Curriculum Overview
I choose civil engineering out of interest. The course I choose was really nice, and so were the faculty, management and my fellow friends. The girl is to boy ratio in my class was almost 1:1.Girls in our class outsmarted the boys. The faculty were highly qualified from having PhDs and Masters to experience in the field of civil engineering. They exposed us to various competitions and conferences and encouraged and guided us. We have two internal examinations every semester. Your total internal mark will be the average of your slip tests, assignments and internal exam. The total internal marks will be out of 30. Assignments are simple and interesting, It's easy to score above 20 in internals. We have our semester exams once in 6 months and the difficulty level is not much high.
Internships Opportunities
As I was from the civil dept it was compulsory for us to do an internship. I did an internship off-campus at a site nearby my home. No stipend was given. It was a very good experience where I got exposed to real-life problems and learnt how to tackle them.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are good from IT and CSE students. For them, campus placements start in the 6th semester. Companies visited TCS, Cognizant, Amazon, and many startup companies. Avg package is around 4Lpa. CSE and IT pretty good number of students being placed. For Civil, Mech and EEE the campus placements aren't really great (maybe 2 to 3 companies show up for civil). I'm applying for jobs off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are pretty reasonable compared to other engineering colleges. The facilities provided by the college are great. Since I'm a B-category student I'm not eligible for any scholarship. For our batch, the fees for B-cat students was 90,000/-. And for others, it varied based on their EAMCET rank.
Campus Life
We have many fests a year from celebrating the annual day and flash mob to celebrating various festivals like Holi, Sankranthi, and Ganesh Chaturthi. We also have many events held on various occasions (like a technical event on Engineers Day & Guest lectures). We also have many social groups like MCC (the club that organizes all the events in MEC), NGOs like Withyou and Satyardhan, VYK (Vivekananda Yuva Kendra), Dharohar Club(for researchers who are into restoring old structures), Coding Club, Orators Club, Dance & Music Club, NSS, NCC. Apart from the social clubs our college provides great facilities like having digital classrooms, libraries with the latest editions of books and journals a good indoor play stadium, MSME room( a room which has only innovative products designed by MEC'S students). In sports, we have basketball, cricket, throwball and volleyball for both girls and boys(except cricket for girls). We have chess, carrom, and table tennis. We also have inter-college competitions.
Admission
I was a B-category student. My admission to civil engineering was based on my intermediate marks. Since it was spot admission we were supposed to be present in the college for the admission procedure, the application process and the payment everything will be done in a couple of hours. One must just be updated on the spot admission dates of different colleges. Apart from that the entire process of admission to Matrusri engineering college is perfect, well-planned and organized.

I've got into a better college and distance was also a factor.
