About my college

Though my college doesn't provide anything for the projects in terms of funds, well this has made me be independent in life, this is has taught me a lesson saying ARNOLD don't be dependent on anyone for anything, everything in life teaches something or the other in life, mistakes teach us a lesson and if we win anytime then its the time for us to take ourselves to the next level.

I wrote KCET (karnataka common entrance test) which is a medium to get into the engineering courses i.e bachelor of engineering.I didn't do well in the same and landed up getting 34260(approx) ranking. I was much interested in robotics and automation field.The engineering course relating to my interest was mechatronics engineering there are only three colleges in Karnataka which has these courses. Finally my ranking supported THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING so landed up in the same college. No, there was no interview process carried out to get an admission in the college. As mentioned earlier my interest was in robotics and automation so my own interest made me take up what i am doing now.

So i would say the course which i chose was pretty good because my branch is nmed as MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING which is a combination of mechanical and electronics = MECHAnical elecTRONICS. this is a field where you get to learn about mechanical, electronics,computer programming so these three fields will make a perfect robotics engineer.The focus on Practical Learning is a big ZERO in our college. There are no such encouragements given in our college even our labs are outdated.we believe that practical knowledge is much more important than theoretical knowledge but this college people wont understand these words.When there are no proper labs only how can anyone take Research initiatives, i cannot say no also to the research initiatives because some of the other branches like electronics and communication department have their own research labs where some of the research things happen and even biotechnology too, not from mechatronics. The elective options for our branch is robotics, automation, automation in manufacturing,java,c++,wireless communication etc;

college doesn't provide any sort of internships, students have to go the industries search for internships and college only gives and approval letter saying that this student is from our college. internships have to be done by our own. till now we have not undergone any sort of internships, and neither we have got any stipend amount.

Placement is not so much done in our college. The local companies come to our college such as amazon, snapdeal,payu etc; and there are not much preferences given to placements in our college. The average package is just 4-6lakhs per annumm not much than this.

no events are held in our college, This institution is just making money, for itself, however our department is conducting some of the events like quiz, techical exhibition , painting/sketching(theme swachh bharat) . events are rarely held in our college. last year computer science department conducted fest named impulse 2k16.

Since i got admission to this college through KCET the fees which i paid was 45000 INR to the college in addition to that the college also takes 6700 INR. Speaking about affordability yes it is affordable for the medium class/high class people and many other scholarships are provided to help the students achieve their goals.

yes college provides lots of scholarship for the needy students, No i did not avail any of the scholarships, scholarship is given to the families whose annual income is not more than 2.5 lakhs per annumm.

in terms of extra curriculars also our college is somewhat fine. Yes i have got some oppurtunites to explore my talent i am much more interested in doing projects and my department supports doing all these things and i also attend competitions held in other colleges.

yes, From the past two years I am residing in hostel. There are two sharing, three sharing and four sharing rooms in per hostel. The hostel is not at all clean its the worst part of our living, they rarely come to clean our rooms, toilets are also cleaned very rarely, croackroaches roam around during nights, and rats have their big family in the mess. Howmuch ever we try to convince the management people regarding these issues they keep on ignoring it. Coming to the food, it is good because we have different combination of food everyday, Monday special is paneer, Tuesday special is egg, wednesday we have chicken dal, Thursday we have some sweet , Friday and Saturday we don't have anything special, Sunday we have chicken biriyani(not so good).I paid 88,000 INR for one year of y stay in the hostel even the food is included in the same.

i have not seen any of the alumni, I have heard that they collect 500 INR from the alumni but none of them are invited for any alumni meets.

It is like in one semester we have 3 internals and the marks of best out of two internals will be accepted. Internals. Internals usually will be in the last week of every month.It will be held for 3 days continuously and two subjects per day.Yes it makes us feel tired at the end of the day writing two subjects and each subject for 40 marks.It is not a chill culture.

Speaking about the faculties of our department, yes they are good,qualified,experienced(few) and supportive in each and every way. When students come up with an idea which can the change the world for the betterment they are always ready to share their experience,knowledge, help the students achieve their dreams.Standard of teaching is not up to the mark. Students are looking out for the practical knowledge rather than the theoretical one.
