Remarks
The management is not that great. Many rules and stuff which make it seem like a college. Other than that the college is a really great place to grow as a person even if you dont learn anything. Students all come together to help other students to develop in more ways then just studies. The seniors and the alumni are the best things about the college. And the activities
Entrance Preview
I took the IIT JEE Mains exam. At that time CET was not there for us and the only option was JEE Mains. I scored 42 in Mains. I am South Indian, So I opted for this college because I was able to opt for the seats because of minority.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is lackluster and behind the times. Its all theory and the subjects thought dont have any significance with application. Mumbai University has it fixed in their mind to provide substandard education and to create an army of mindless slaves. No place for creativity and Innovation.
Internships Opportunities
They do provide internships but most of them are outside the college through tie ups. Stipend isnt given usually.
Placement Experience
Placements are sub standard. They same companies like L&T, TCS and other mass requiters come and hire the students. Mechanical Engineering students dont get placed at all, Many opt for further studies. They travel abroad instead of sitting in placements
College Events
One positive thing about this college is the events. Since all the students feel miserable in general because of the hectic schedule and studies. The student council comes together to put up many events for the students. We have two fests, one technical fest know as Cognition which is held in the month of september. And one cultural fest which is held in Feb-March. Other than that we have events like open-mic, TEDx (first in Navi Mumbai), Hackathon and Traditional day and Tie-Saree day. Other than that we have technical and non-technical workshops
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is feasible for a middle-class family. For lower class they have options of scholarship or else they will have to opt for loan. They current fee is around 1 lakh for normal students for TWF students it is 15000.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is based on merit. Loan facility is available through private banks.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is normal. Almost 50/50 except in mechanical its terrible there. Lacks in diversity because it is South Indian Minority college. Every other guy is a south indian. We are engineering students we dont have time to think about politics. Many events and workshops surrounding robotics is held during our fests.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facility available. There are many private hostels though. But no details on them.We have a canteen and cafeteria. The food is ok in canteen only vegetarian. Cafe has beverages, burger, puffs, sandwiches and maggi.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is strong. Since many go abroad to study. There is alumni present so that it can help the current students to create network. And alumni are helpful.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is the one which is outlined by Mumbai university. Theory for 80 marks, 20 for practicals and some for assignments. In all, they make sure that any will to live is removed from the student. The teachers know how useful the assignments are (NOT) and yet they dump a ton of them on the students making us miserable.
Admission
The form/prospectus was available at the office counter. Minority admissions start before CAP so I already got a seat before the CAP round started. Few seats were reserved for minority and they were given based on merit (JEE + 12th Board percentile). I had 70 percentile so i got admission in the branch I wanted.
Faculty
Some of the faculty is good. some of them are not. All of them have the subject knowledge required to teach it. But some teachers are not able to impart that knowledge at all. Many find the lectures boring ( myself included) due to the dryness of the subject and bad teaching methods.
