Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The reason why I chose this course is because this course is practical and based on computer applications & from my school time I planned to get into some course that can provide me with hands-on experience on my skills. The industry-oriented course makes students ready & teaches skills which are in demand in today's market. E.g-By this course you will get to know about programming, Python, R, Javascript, and soft skills like communication, networking, Entrepreneurship, AI, etc. Everyone here is cooperative but students have to try to reach them. In my class, there are 58 students & the seats for this course are fewer, only 62. Here teachers are not like teachers in school tbh, no reason to complain. Teachers in BHU are way good. Everything went well & good. When I am writing this review I have completed my 1st semester. There are two examinations - one is a sessional & next is Semester. If students are attentive in class they will definitely pass it and may even top if work a bit hard & think differently.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship is totally based on each courses, like if you talk about internship in BVOC in Computer Application then we still need to get an internship over here. Megashop Retail pvt. Ltd. , Sudha Diary, Urban Diary are some companies for Bvoc food processing and agribusiness.. The task here are given totally based on real life experience, like if you take example of Bvoc Computer Application then for project in one subject called IPR (INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS) students need to come up with some real ideas or Innovation for creating their projects. We get projects and task to study some companies to know what strategy they are using to grow so that we can understand and can have real idea of how a company actually works.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement through Bvoc in Computer Application is still unknown there is a strong reason behind this. See, as I'm first-year student & I'm 2nd batch, first batch students are still in their 2nd year and after their course completion they will be getting interships and Job opportunities. Till now which company or industry will come is unknown but as soon I will get any update I will inform here. This course is fit for packages upto 4LPA &can be increased to 6 LPA based on students performance &skill set. Till now no one has got placed from bvoc computer applications but yes students from other bvoc course has got placed and has got interships in their college period. My plan is that, I will undergo for higher studies with some job experience after working from interships. So that I can level up my self and can place my self at some better place.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for Bvoc in Computer Application is 28000 per semester. Students have to submit 33k in the first semester (26k course fee, 2k university fee, 5k assessment fee). Then after it will be 28k or 26k from next semester onwards. In my opinion, the course fee is quite more and expensive but the opportunity here for one student will get to grow by socializing, chances to attend seminars & workshops it feels like it is valid. If talking about scholarships, here students get state and central scholarships and also some scholarships that are only for girls. Recently many students get scholarships on around 30th March 2023. Not sure about Financial assistance. As I said, I am just in my first year of college & in 2nd semester, as soon as I will get information about on-campus placements, I will update my information.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at Banaras Hindu University is a dream for most of students for a reason. Here you will feel refreshed every day. The campus is sweet & silent, full of greenery with fascinating lights. Now I will tell you about the Fest, here you will get an opportunity to attend & participate in various fest and events, recently I-ACE, singing competition by TARANGINI & other events happened. Also here in BHU, some celebrities visit. Recently Ashneer Grover, Ojha Sir, and Maithili Thakur visited Swatantrata Bhawan IIT BHU. BHU Sayaji Raao Gaewkward Central Library. Is the biggest and offers a wide range of books available in it, one UG student can borrow 2 books and PG students can borrow 4 books. Has ~11000+ books including journals, thesis, manuscript, etc. In the sports fields, students can be enrolled in any sport like hockey totally free or can use way big grounds for Cricket, football, etc.

Admission

My course is a vocational course and it is not like other traditional courses. It is a professional course. For getting admission in this course, candidates should have PCM/PCB in their 12th class and a minimum of 60% in their 12th board. You will get admission through the CUET examination you have to select BHU and add BVOC IN COMPUTER APPLICATION as your course. For checking the Fee structure of any Bvoc courses candidates can visit the BHU website. Every BVOC course has a different fee structure. For Bvoc in Computer Application, the fee is 28000 per semester. It is 3-year course. You will get a seat only on the basis of your marks. If you get high marks you will get admission. Though if the seat is vacant then you may get a Reservation benefit. There was one issue with the combination of two choices. Students would have opted for either choice like 1. PCM + English 2. Computer science + English. I chose Computer science + English because I feel this combination is easy. But now you have only the PCM+ENGLISH combination.

Other Applied Colleges

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya - [GGU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

The reason why I didn't opt for that college is 1. That college is in other state 2. I got my dream university Banaras Hindu University, which is in my state as well as in my city. 3. Fee in GURU GHASIDAS university is comparatively higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific aspects : vocational studies are meant to provide practical knowledge and less theoretical , i mainly chose this to be able to learn about Industry earlier. Our curriculum did promise everything but when it comes to providing actual practical experience they just take our money and in return just put us with the BA/BSc students and we have to study alongside them without any special course and the theory was supposed to be 30% but in reality they only teach theory throughout the year and it covers 70% of our grade. Area of improvement: better internship opportunities, actually teaching the practical aspects written in the syllabus. Some of the bvoc courses do get internships but not computer application. Timimg of exams are alright not very frequent as per se, difficulty level is medium.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum prepared is great . But the follow up is pathetic. They are not teaching any practical knowledge as written in the curriculum. They really need to provide us a fixed faculty based on our course. We should be provided classes and teachers of our course not some random research scholars. They don't complete the syllabus but will take exams in just one to one and half months i have completed two years here and currently I am giving mid sem exams of sem 5. Now you can imagine how it is here.the only proa here is that you will get a degree of BHU that's it .
