Course Curriculum Overview

4

As we all know the current demand for Computer Science in the industry so I chose CSE core in the first category. Faculty to student ratio might be a bit poor due to high student intake. Most of the faculty are either PhD scholars or asst. professors.

Placement Experience

3.5

Vellore Institutes of Technology practices a centralised placement policy where students from all four campus are allowed to appear under one name of VIT only so the placement is equal as in VIT Vellore, Chennai or AP campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are 5 categories for admission in a single course where the tuition fees start from 198000 to around 500000. There is a scholarship given to state board toppers and city toppers of MP state and the rest I don't know about.

Campus Life

1.5

The campus life is not as what a college student would expect there are a few restrictions that may be owed to the location of our college and I think the college should relax the gender interaction rules a bit because if you keep so vigil strict then you're bound to have rogues students.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility is much much better than most of the other colleges and the mess we get in block 2 and 3 is amazing though not like the home food but comparativly better. Food is too spicy for students from UP, Bihar and Punjab side.

Admission

We had to take VITEEE entrance examination which contained easy-level but quick to solve questions from PCM and English. After VITEEE ranks have been out we registered for the counselling and there we had one common window for all the 4 campuses and all categories and branches. Though I believe that the counselling of this year had been done and the fresh batch will comence from July onwards. After the counselling we are alloted the courses and categories on the basis of our ranks and after that we are provided with college credentials and specific mail IDs by college. The orientation program of ours was held online and there were a few bridge courses compulsory to be taken before coming to the campus and there was a credit alloted to complete them. After the orientation we had to select our courses and time table, we had the liberty to design the time table as we preffered according to the given slots for each subject. A few weeks before campus onboarding we were asked for hostels.

At LNCT students become eligible for engineering placements in the final year. Like after 3rd year, meaningful intenrships are provided and most students get PPO through that. For those fail to do so, our college invites a lot of companies which gives us core placements.

You become eligible to sit for placements in 7th semester , that is , in your 4th year. There are companies like Google, Amazon, Deloitte, Accenture, Axxela, American Express, BNY Melon, Adobe , Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Optum, Oracle, etc. But in other IITs which are also 2nd generation, more companies (around 50) comes for on campus placements . The highest pay is mostly for Software development and Quant roles. Last year it was around 1 Cr per annum of a Computer Science student which is really great. And the average package was around 25-26 Lakhs per annum. Last year , around 88% of all students including B.tech and M.tech got placed with decent salary.
