Remarks

The institute is overall a par excellent educational hub for post graduate courses with a devout faculty and only the creme de la creme cab clear the entrance as the paper standards are beyond average intelligence.

Entrance Preview

CAT for ILI is an individual college based entrance test. LLM helped me learn better about criminal law and human rights that gave me great insight into societal problems in a better way. I had IPU campus' option but ILI is better comparing the faculty and library as it has Asia's largest law library.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum for my llm 2 yr was different and more vast but you has now been changed to one year llm course which has slightly compact syllabus. ILI majorly focuses on research skills and improves a student's research knowledge by helping it grow and be efficient.

Internships Opportunities

There is no internship provision. However the faculty helps you and recommends good places to work at and the institute develops you so well that every employer would love to engage you as interns.

Placement Experience

1.5

There is no placement cell. However, the professors help you get better jobs in teaching sector. All post graduates from ili do somewhere or the other get good employment anyway so the placement cell is hardly required. Most other educational institutions especially private ones always prefer students from ili over the others.

College Events

5

ILI hosts plenty of seminars, workshops, etc in various disciplines. Every Wednesday there is a seminar for students conducted by students themselves with minimal faculty participation. They have a plenary hall which hosts many outside programs and events as well that are usually open for public and students can also attend those.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is approx. 1.2 lakh Per year which is reasonable given the educational standards of the institution and it is a govt. Organisation with CJI being its chairperson. The fee structure is not very expensive in nature because the level of education is comes at a price.

Fees and Financial Aid

The topper of a batch's entrance exam gets a certain amount as scholarship. There is sometimes also a provision of scholarship or aid in monetary terms for reserved category students but no other provisions for scholarship exists.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is strictly professional as ili only has post graduate courses. Gender ratio is equal. The institute has an excellent library and a resource center with over 76000 titles and many online subscriptions. They organised a Wednesday seminar every week for better intellectual development of students.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There are no hostels or mess. There is however a guest house for emergencies and guests can stay there with administrative permission. But students are not permitted to stay there. Except in uncertainty and emergencies. Such as when a student was injured he was taken there to rest before he could be availed medical aid.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors of the institute are very helpful and interactive about everything the institute has to offer.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is subjective in nature with multiple research based assignments for each subject. Each subject is allotted 100 marks that include two internals and a final along with a mandatory assignment each. For every assignment there is presentation as well. Apart from this each semester has a research paper along with presentation that also carries 100 marks. There is dissertation in the final semester

Admission

ILI has a two tier interview process. First a preliminary exam and then if you qualify it is followed by an interview by externals. For entrance you have to fill an application that comes out generally in may every year. Ili has a perfect administrative system.

Faculty

5

Most of the faculty are PHD with NET qualified. They are all devised their own curriculum based on their specializations and no random subjects are allotted without consideration. The professor there are very helpful at all times and also active in student activities. They help students gather better information and compel them to think new ideas by their way of teaching.
