Remarks

College does possess all the things an average college needs to be a good college, but it lacks in management. At the end, a student needs a job which is every college's main responisibility to nurture him and provide opportunities. This college lacks in doing so. College Training and Placement cell doesn't do enough, false promises are made. The college must change their placement officer to continue forward.

Entrance Preview

I took IPU CET (Common Entrance Test) to get admission in this college as it is affiliated to GGSIPU.GGSIPU conducts this test every year around June to shortlist students for B.Tech program for their affiliated colleges. I tried to get a seat in a good college through AIEEE but I failed to do so.So, at last, I got a seat in this college through IPU CET.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

For the first year, all streams have the same syllabus. After that, every semester has around 6-8 subjects, according to the stream. The curriculum followed in colleges of IPU is quite similar to curriculum followed in many good colleges and universities like DTU, NSIT. Talking about electives in last year, a class has a minimum of 50% students vote to select that elective, so out of 6-7 electives, a student is left with 2 options to select from.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide any kind of internship. Students have to find an internship on their own.College does ask for internship or training report after the third year, it does carry marks. There are some colleges which conduct internship or job fair.A student can also go through websites like Internshala, letsIntern etc to find an internship.

Placement Experience

1.5

**Must Read** Placements of this college are below average.Infosys is only the permanent recruiter for this college, there are a couple of other companies (like ClickSoftware) too that have come this year. College placement cell conducts AMCAT and CoCubes exam by taking the exam fees from each candidate, most of the students get their first job through these exams only.Unlike other colleges, this college TPO don't have good contacts with companies to ask them to come for placement drive. Students have to try on their own for Job-related activities.

College Events

4

College is good for all this stuff. There are many societies which conduct different events from time to time. The main event organizing committee -AWAAZ' organizes the college's annual function.Besides this, there are other societies like Yashagana for drama, Dazzlers for dance through which student can explore more of a college life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

NIEC comes in grade one of IP University. For the first year, a student has to deposit 40k to the university and rest 60k to the college. After the first year, the complete fee is paid to the college, which is around 1lac for a year. So a college of IP university, I find it expensive as compared to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know, college doesn't have a scholarship type of program, but it might allow you some flexibility in fees submission if you have a genuine reason.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good, the gender ratio is 1:3. College does have many things through which student can relax. There is ground for cricket and football(although not so big), courts for badminton and basketball, a room for chess and carrom like sports.Talking about co-curricular activities, college does have many societies for dance, drama, fashion and all.For the geeks, the college supports international societies like CSI, IEEE which conducts many competitions. Talking in context to tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status, students are made to sign an anti-ragging form and there is a good friendly environment in the college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

NIEC doesn't provide hostel services.Outstation students have to find a paying guest or rent a room.Canteen is just satisfactory. They don't change their menu and quality of food is just average, but it can satisfy your hunger.Besides the main canteen there are other two small shops too. Alumni/Alumna

Many new societies and groups are founded by senior students which consist of both seniors and fresherman.Besides this, good bonding with the senior student might help you to get a job though reference.

Exam Structure

For the first year, college does have a tight schdeule,70% attendance is made compulsory, otherwise, a student is not allowed to take the sessional exam. Two cycles of sessional exams are conducted for each subject (Only theory ones), having a difference of a month in between them. After the second cycle, the schedule becomes more cumbersome through internal practicals, final practicals followed by End term Examination. Marks Distribution: Each sessional exam-30 marks, which is then evaluated out of 10. Two sessionals 10+10=20+5 marks for assignment and stuff (basically your impression), 75 through end term exams.

Admission

To get into any college affiliated to GGSIPU, a student has to clear IPU CET, My rank was 15457 after which I have to set my stream and college preference according to my desire. On the basis of seats, score, and Domicile, IPU releases various lists of college in which that student can be placed. At that time, I was shortlisted for a seat in HMR college through first two lists.Through third list of online counselling, I got a seat in this college.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college is average, some are highly skilled in their domain but most of the times you will find a faculty teaching a subject out of his domain. On the basis of qualification, some do have Ph.D.'s in their domains but many faculties are previous students of this college or of some IP college only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Placement Experience:

The placements are in good terms, many students get a placement with nice package. Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd Semester. TCS made about 7 offers as far as I know. One can expect the highest package of 2.5crore and an average of 200000. About 80% of students gets placement because of the skills they learned wheres the rest 20% are only at college to do mischievous acts. After getting the degree, I will find a job and then after enough capital I will start my own startup.

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
