A life changing experience!

The college provides a good exposure to the practical and theoretical applications of the courses with excellent teaching methods and the only short coming is the lack of campus placement for some of the branches which is resolved by the good technical knowledge provided which helps the students to easily get placed once the course is completed.

The admission to LU is based on the marks scored in 12th standard CBSE board examination or equivalent state board examination, in which I had scored 87%. There is scholarships in form of concession of fees for students with good marks in board exams or JEE. There is a round of counseling which helps us select our branch of interest better. The reason I chose to join here was the highly qualified faculties and the good lab facilities available especially for mechanical engineering.

The course structure is very elaborate and focused on academic excellence of each student through theoretical and practical learning. In the first year all the beaches have the same syllabus which includes basics of all the branches along with communication skills and science subjects. From second year onwards all the individual branches have their own syllabus. There are on average 6 theory subjects and 4 practicals every sem, with emphasis to to atleast 3 projects by the end of the course. In bachelor's degree there is no emphasis to do research but the students are free to use the facilities at the college if needed.

The college does not provide internship within the campus. However the last sem in all the courses is dedicated for the students to do internship in their respective fields outside the campus in recognised organisations like ONGC IOC DRDO and other companies like TATA Infosys TCS JLR etc.

The campus placement is not upto the mark especially for Mechanical and Civil Engineering branches. For Computer Science and IT related branches thereare lots of companies that do campus recruitment drive. Many students get placed in companies like Infosys and TCS with varying packages. Most of the students especially from Mechanical and Civil departments find jobs after the completion of the course in various companies like Harley Davidson, JLR, Alpha Romeo etc.

The college celebrates various events. Starting with Orientation Day which is usually in the first week of August. Then the Freshers Day in which both the senior students and the newbies participate in various programs like dance, singing, fashion show, Mr. & Miss Fresher etc. Also there is the college cultural fest (Zest) followed by the Tech fest, Sports Day and later the hostel night, making each year more fun and enjoyable.

For BTech the Fee structure is not as high as many private colleges. There is a strict rule against collection of donation or other form of deposit at the time of admission. The fees for each sem is ₹75,000. There is also a cashback of ₹2000 if the fees is paid in advance. Scholarships are given for meritorious students which can reduce the fees upto 50,000 and hostel fees upto 100%

Scholarships are provided at the time of admission for meritorious students in the form of discount inthe fees. It ranges from 25% to 100% off in the hostel or bus fees or ₹50000 in the college fees oer year based on marks scored in board exams. Loan facilities are provided by all nationalised banks and the college will provide the necessary documents for the same.

Campus life is very exciting and is filled with various events and activities. There is an overall equality in gender ratio in the University. There are various societies like Dept. of Theatre, Music n Dance, literary club etc., That gives the students good exposure to extra curricular activities like acting dance music debates etc. The college is extremely tolerant towards all the groups without discrimination on caste race religion etc. And also provides financial support for students from less fortunate economic backgrounds.

The hostel has AC and Non AC rooms. Each room has 3 occupants and is furnished with beds tables, chairs and cupboards for each student. WiFi facility is provided for the students at the hostel. There is also swimming pool and gym facilities for the students staying at the hostel. The food is provided at two different mess halls with South Indian and North Indian choices and is of average taste and good quality.

The senior students often visit the campus and are also available on social media networks. They are extremely helpful in giving advices realted to the course and job opportunities afterwards.

Every semester has 3 quizzes l, 2 assignments, 2 mid sem exams and one sem exam for the theory subjects. For labs there is a 1hour 30 minutes lab session for each subject every week in which we can perform the experiments and also submit the lab files and give viva. In all the schedule is neither hectic nor chilled out, there is time to chill out and enjoy and well as work to do on any average day.

The admission process starts soon after the declaration of JEE results. The notification is put out for public in the college website, newspapers and social media handles. Before the counseling the students and the parents are given a tour of the college and can interact with the faculties and visit the various facilities like labs, hostel, gym, swimming pool etc. During the counseling the advantages and opportunities of the selected branch, the fees etc., are discussed.

The faculties are highly qualified and are from institutes like Indian Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology, and other premier institutes. All the facilities hold Masters degree or Phd in their respective subjects. Many of the faculties have industrial experience prior to coming to the field of teaching.
