Course Curriculum Overview

4

I personally chose this course because of my interests in the literature and its characteristics. The curriculum is carefully divided into three years with gradual advancements in subsequent years. It prepares the base for pursuing literature as an are of interest and ultimately career. The only area of improvement in my opinion is the integration of technology(e.g., Smart classes) in the content delivery. The frequency of exams is ideally timed once in mid semester and once in the final semester. Final semester exams are comparatively more difficult than mid sem exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like accenture, amazon, wipro, infosys etc are major recruiters. The job roles offered vary from junior assistant roles to manager roles. Students get internship opportunities in final year of their courses.

Placement Experience

4

Maximum placements happen in B Tech and BBA/MBA courses. About 60% students get placed every year from these courses ( this number varies). In Other courses, such as my course, students go on to pursue post graduation and get into the field of education and teaching. Personally my plan is to prepare for UPSC CSE after my degree

Fees and Financial Aid

Students can apply for scholarship initially on merit basis and subsequently through their academic performance in the course they pursue. Also students can give Lingayas Scholarship Aptitude Test(LSAT) and get scholarship

Campus Life

4

The annual fest is called ZEST, which happens in the month of October every year.It is a 3 day fiesta starting from the exhibitions and events from various student committees and culminates with a grand star night (We hosted Nakash Aziz last year and Sonu Nigam the year before). The library is a very quiet and meditative place with more than 10000 books and all famous journals and magazines. This place is my personal favourite. The classrooms are equipped with smartboards but they have a lot of scope of improvement. The campus has 1 football field, 1 multipurpose gym, 1 Badminton area and a Basketball and Volleyball court. Apart from sports, various committees like Literary committee, decoration committee, singing and dancing committee, Fashion committee etc are there to complement the curriculum.

Admission

I only applied to this college because this was the only college with tie up with National Defence Academy, Pune( of which I was a part of as an officer cadet and later got medically boarded out after 1.5 years). No I didn't got rejected from any other college since this was the only college I applied for. The admissions are done on the basis of performance in class 12th board exams for my course. The admission process is very smooth and for me it got over in a few hours

Faculty

4

The Faculty to Student ratio is approximately 1:20. The faculties are very approachable and the faculty student relationship is also good. I personally like my CC Akansha ma'am due to her knowledge and experience. In my opinion, she is the best Faculty of my department. I do not dislike someone as such. Coming to exams, we have Mid semester exams and end semester exams combined with assignments, projects and vivas. Nearly all students clear the exams with a few exceptions. The course curriculum is also I line with the UGC guidelines.

Night Life

3

Since I don't live around college, I don't have much idea about hangout places or nightlife as such. We have 1 multipurpose Gym. It is equipped with all major workout equipments along with a ping pong table and a pool table. Campus timings: 0910 hrs to 1600hrs Hostel timings: you can be out from the hostel except during the following time- 2300hrs to 0600 hrs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific Aspects That Influenced the Decision For students choosing a professional or certificate course, the curriculum usually becomes the deciding factor based on three key pillars: Job-Oriented Specific Skills: The primary influence is the curriculum's direct focus on market-based, job-ready skills (e.g., Python, Data Science, Digital Marketing tools). Unlike a traditional degree, the appeal is that every module must be immediately applicable to a job. Portfolio Development: Students are heavily influenced by modules that are project-based or require them to build a portfolio (like a website, a code repository, or a marketing plan). The curriculum must be designed to result in tangible work that can be shown to employers. Industry Certification Alignment: If the course prepares students for an external, recognized industry certificate (like CCNA, MCP, or Google/Meta certificates), the curriculum's strict adherence to that certification standard is a major influence. 2. Preparation for Real-World Applications The curriculum of a successful short-term course is designed to excel specifically in preparing students for real-world applications. Curriculum Improvements Mandatory Soft Skills Integration: While technical skills are a focus, the curriculum should mandate dedicated modules on non-technical, yet critical, job skills like: Professional Communication and Email Etiquette Team Collaboration and Project Management (Agile/Scrum basics) Interview Preparation and Mock Interviews Industry Feedback Loop: Establish a more frequent and formal system to update the curriculum based on current industry demands, possibly involving an advisory board of employers or recent alumni.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is highly relevant and comprehensive, according to me. The core courses that are mandatory for a student to take are highly relevant and necessary in order to develop the relevant skills and knowledge in that specific domain of the field. Electives on the other hand, are a student's choices and may or may not be relevant directly to the course one is studying. The university offers a wide range of electives and the electives are also taught by highly qualified professors across the 12 different schools of JGU. The end semester exams are either of 30 marks or 50 marks, depending on the course. Electives usually have a 30-mark end-of-semester exam for 1.5 hours. The exams are pretty easy and theoretical and contextual, unless the course one has chosen is strictly application-based and demands applications of theoretical frameworks. The core exams in the first and second year are divided across 50 and 30 mark exams and are often for 3 hours. The exams are pretty easy and theoretical except for the practicum courses, which are deeply application-based. The final year has very few core courses which are for 30 marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was influenced because I wanted to study more about how a person makes decisions, form perception and how a person's mind works . The curriculum prepares us for real world as we study about different aspects of psychology. The curriculum can be improved a little by adding a elective course in which we can get a little experience and arranging trips . The exams are not too difficult or too easy , just in perfect depth of the subject.
