Remarks
I think the campus size is very small compared to other engineering colleges across Navi Mumbai. A good campus size with a bunch of trees would definitely create a good atmosphere on the campus.
Entrance Preview
I took IIT JEE Main exam and scored 200 marks. The college had a decent reputation as far as engineering is concerned.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure/curriculum is very interesting. Instead of having to have students focused on just the theoretical, bookish knowledge, the coursework also emphasizes on getting the practical knowledge of what we learn. Students engage in various research projects each semester under the supervision of the professors that help them inculcate the practical experience and gain a few attributes such as analytical problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills.
Internships Opportunities
The college unfortunately does not assist students in getting internships. However, they do have a placement cell that assists intelligent students in getting full-time jobs.
Placement Experience
As I mentioned above, LTCE does have a jobs and placement cell. The purpose of the placement cell is to assist students in getting the kind the jobs they are looking for. The placement cell, over the years has been quite effective in finding jobs for the engineers.
College Events
The LTCE student community is quite active and popular in social, cultural, academic and sports areas as they celebrate tons of festivals every year and a number of students from across not just colleges from Navi Mumbai but also from Mumbai come and attend these festivals.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is moderately expensive. I pay about Rs. 1,20,000 a year as my tuition fees. However, the college does provide an option to pay the fees in installments and have it paid over a period of a few months instead of having to pay it once.
Fees and Financial Aid
LTCE does offer scholarship/loan facilities but most of them are for students belonging to lower castes. I think this is the case pretty much everywhere in India.
Campus Life
The campus life is very chilled out. Although LTCE has comparatively smaller campus, the atmosphere is always energizing. The gender ratio here is quite good and quite close to 1. LTCE often has robotics workshops in order to demonstrate students with different kinds of robots and how they are used in various industries as well as domestic level.
Hostel Facilities
I do not live in the hostel as I am a localite. But I have visited the hostel rooms as I have some friends who live in the hostel. The rooms are pretty good and come at decent costs. The mess too is quite good one as I have been there a few times. Overall the facilities are decent.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is quite strong and senior students are always helpful in giving tips to the juniors. They also have talk sessions time to time in order to get to interact with the seniors.
Exam Structure
The labs and exams were moderately hectic. There were times, when I had to spend some extra time in the labs to get the my experiments finished. But that was because some of the experiments were meant to be time consuming. Exams are quite chilled out as we always get at least a couple of days off between the two exams.
Admission
The process started with filling out the online forms for CAP round 1 and I got admitted in the first round itself. I had listed out a few engineering colleges while feeling out the form for the first CAP round based on my scores and Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, Navi Mumbai was one of my top priorities. I consider myself lucky to have been studying at LTCE.
Faculty
The faculty at LTCE are really good and always committed toward giving their best in order to make best engineers at the end of those four years of engineering. Their interest and knowledge in teaching the respective course/subject is simply outstanding.
