Course Curriculum Overview
Most of the faculties here are from IIT Delhi, thus the faculties here have a high qualifications. There may be a little shortage of the faculties sometimes but things work out with guest faculties. Even the guest faculties are excited to be a part of JNU and thus give their best. Each semester lasts for 5-6 months and we have a mid-semester examination after 2-3 months, then the end semester examination at the end. The fact that there's a little shortage of faculties does not stop them, rather the faculties are ready to take classes for many batches at a time so that the students don't have to suffer. Everyone here in the school of engineering is trying to do their best to improve the student's performance and give them a brilliant future.
Placement Experience
From the 4th semester, it is expected to be doing internships, though basic ones because they build your confidence and help you do anything you want to. They also help you to get campus placements as you need at least one internship certificate for the same.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete fees without hostel charges for a single semester are around 75,000 for general and OBC students. As you see, the fees here are quite affordable and much less than other known engineering colleges.
Campus Life
The very first thing to mention about the campus is that it is full of greenery, trees, and plants everywhere on the campus. The Central Library of JNU is the tallest building in JNU bearing about 7 floors and accommodating thousands and lakhs of books. There are 3-4 AC reading rooms where you can peacefully study in a very calm environment. There are many political parties active in campus like DSF, ABVP, AISA, and many more.
Admission
The admission process in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for Btech + Mtech Dual degree is through the Joint entrance examination (JEE) mains, which is a common entrance exam for most engineering colleges in India. To get the Btech + Mtech course, you need to have studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as the main subjects in your 11th and 12th classes. The opening rank in 2021 for the Btech + Mtech course was around 1,600 in general and the average was in between 10,000 and 25,000. There is no reservation for the female candidates for the Btech + Mtech course. But reservations are available for the OBC category, and SC/ST category.
