Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Referring to the Integrated Course on Computer Science and Engineering, the student-faculty ratio demands substantial improvement. The present faculty is educated and experienced. The teaching method of the faculty might not be easy to sync with, and thus, may require attention. In the context of pursuing various exams, JNU remains the best place to carry on. Clubs are active and handled by the students, which may be a benefitting ground if you expect to learn things and join hands to pace your projects. The syllabus and course schedule is not as strict(less cumbersome) as their competing colleges. Schedule, as such, may be an issue over time as the University doesn't ask the pupils for mandatory internships post their 6th semester. The research scenario over here is in its developing phase and is growing to gain attention. For a competitive exam enthusiast, this might be a better place to pursue engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of study over here is quite low. Compared to competing colleges, the fee structure is quite relaxed. For the financially weaker sections, college has designed different fee structre which ultimately waves of the burden, and thus is a notable postive aspect. You may opt for various scholarships available.

Campus Life

4

The most appreciating thing about JNU is the social life, you get a whole lot of disciplines to look upon. You get a chance to carry anything you feel fit for, and the variety in academic and non-academic areas presents you with the beauty of the college. JNU has a Central Library with a whole lot of facilities while providing you with the best journals and magazines for every possible aspect. The classroom amenities are quite well as the building is recently built and the furnishings are quite new. The campus is also accompanied by a bunch of clubs for different games and co-curricular and academic activities.

Admission

The admission for the Integrated course BTech+MTech in Computer Science and Engineering was solely based on JEE percentile. The JOSAA appeared to be the counseling body for the application in the respective course while the associated opening and closing ranks, for reference, can be found on their website. The JEE percentile required for admission varies for different reservation categories. For the year 2020, a percentile of 98 was a probable shot for admission in the aforementioned course. The Prospectus, fee structure along with the year-long syllabus could be found on the official website of JNU, School of Engineering.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi Technological University - [DTU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Engineering)

JNU seemed to be more reputed and desired college as compared to DTU, though the placement scenario in DTU is more appreciable I preferred JNU over it.

Placement Experience:

The fifth semester students become eligible for campus placements. The College organise placement, registration and shortlisting based on academic performance and semester marks. Many well-known companies visit the campus for hiring every year, including both mass recruitment and profile based offers students get opportunities in core companies as well as IT and consulting firms, the highest package offered in recent years has been competitive, and the average package is decent for most . A good percentage of students manage to secure placement through campus drives, but it also depends on students preparation and skill level students also get internships into placement offers. If a student does not get a campus placement, there are still good options for employability students to prepare for off campus placement, government exams or higher studies like Masters. Overall the placement environment is active and give students affair chance to start their careers.
