Course Curriculum Overview
The reason to choose this course was the fact that the name included both electronics and computer engineering, therefore, getting the best of both worlds. Our class size is 75, and though it is difficult to address each and every student, the teachers try to clear the doubts of students wherever they can. Almost all the faculty is made up of Assistant professors with the same old teaching methods, nothing too extravagant or exciting. The schedule for our exams has been all over the place due to covid, and since the syllabus was not completed for each and every subject, it was difficult to pass some exams, as compared to others.
Placement Experience
From semester 7 the students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies that have visited the campus are- Samsung, Josh, Maruti Suzuki, Cred to name a few. The percentage of students getting placed and the highest and lowest packages vary depending upon the branch. Our branch is relatively new and we'll get the placement statistics this year itself. The general trend for placements is, the computer branches have higher packages and have a higher number of students placed, then the Electronics branch, then Electrical, mechanical followed by Civil engineering.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees seem a little steep considering it's a state University, and even more so because the quality is sometimes, not up to the mark. I personally haven't received any scholarships, but my friends do have scholarships ( financial help for the economically weak ).
Campus Life
There's been no annual fest in our tenure, there used to be one, but now we're not sure if there'll be a fest while we're here. The library though small is decent and has all the books related to the coursework. The classrooms are decent, though they can get unbearable during summer. The sports culture in our college is one of the poorest things about the college. There's almost no sports culture besides kabbadi and maybe badminton. The club i.e. the cultural and the technical clubs are one of the positives about the college. For example the Electronics and coding club Samarpan.
Admission
The admission process was quite tiresome. People had to wait for a very long time for every stage of the admission process, the criteria for admission was on the basis of JEE mains rank. The application form and details are available on the HSTES site. Some improvement on the HSTES end would be to improve the UI of the website. Like every other government website, the UI of the site is very poor and it can be difficult to access details for the admission process.
