Course Curriculum Overview
IMT Ghaziabad has an extensive course curriculum which makes its students industry-ready once they step out of the campus. I got selected for the PGDM - Core Program, where the students get a choice to choose their major for the second year. The course begins with a 1-month long foundation term to get the students up to speed with MBA life and teach them the basics of subjects such as economics, quant, case learning etc. Post that the actual MBA begins. The first 2 terms are extremely tiring, but one gets to learn a lot of things during them. It is a challenging but also a wonderful experience. The faculty is hands down some of the best minds in the country with experience in various fields like wealth management, brand management, consulting etc. They are very approachable and have different teaching methodologies which add value to our learnings. IMT follows a case learning pedagogy where real business cases are discussed in classes to provide practical insights to students.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of prestigious companies visited the campus for summer internships which included the likes of HSBC, TCPL, Bajaj Auto, Wipro CCL, Dell, Adobe etc. The highest stipend of Rs. 200000, was offered by Pernod Ricard. The companies came to recruit for a variety of roles from different domains including consulting, sales, marketing, finance etc.
Placement Experience
The placements are good at IMT Ghaziabad. The highest package offered in the final placements is around 6700000 INR and the average is 1735000 INR. There were 150+ companies that made more than 450 offers for the students. The companies included the likes of Arcesium, HSBC, Darashaw, Bain, TCPL, Emami, Nivea etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the program is 19,53,000 INR. This amount also includes hostel fees, mess charges, study material and access to different databases etc. Female students are eligible for a 5% refund on the fees and there are various merit-based scholarships for students with amounts up to 100000 INR.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing at IMT. The classrooms are equipped with ample resources that make learning a great experience. Talking about clubs and committees, there are around 20 of them for the students to choose from based on their interests and inclinations. The annual college fest is "Passion", which takes place in the month of December and it is a 3-day fest filled with exciting activities, competitions and celeb nights. IMT also organises "Chakravyuh"- the annual sports fest which is also known as the Olympics of B-Schools. The infrastructure at IMT is also adequate. Apart from the hostel and mess, there are sports amenities for basketball, football, volleyball etc. There are no washing machines provided to the students on campus, however, there is a laundry service available on minimal charges.
Hostel Facilities
The accommodation is provided on the campus itself. Most of the rooms are of double occupancy except a few single occupancy rooms. The rooms are allocated to the students during the admissions. The students are provided with a bed, almirah, study table, chair and an AC. However, the washrooms are common and are cleaned twice every day by the cleaning staff.
Admission
The admission process was smooth. IMT Accepts test scores of CAT, XAT and GMAT only, for admissions. I appeared for interviews using CAT (93.32%ile). The cutoff for admissions is generally 90+%ile, but if any candidate has an exceptional profile, then they might get admission around an 87-88%ile score as well. The shortlisted candidates were called for a PI+WAT round. The admission form costs around Rs. 2200. The interview process starts from February onwards. On the day of the interview, the WAT is conducted First for all the candidates at once and then they are interviewed one by one by the faculty members. The personal interview questions range from current affairs to hygiene questions.
Interview Experience
IMT had a WAT-PI round for admissions. There was no GD. There were multiple topics for WAT ranging from economy and politics to social media. My topic was related to the future of the Indian economy and infrastructural development. 20 minutes time was allotted for WAT and I had to write approx 500 words within the time limit. Post that, the PI round was conducted. Since I had passed the CFA Level 1 exam, most of the questions revolved around finance and the BFSI industry.
