God's Own Campus - NITIE

NITIE is known o be the Mecca of Supply chain and operations in India and has come up as the top B-School for this domain. My expectations from the college were to get the best education in this domain from the top faculty of India and all my expectations have come true to date. The student-to-faculty ratio is 60:1 and the faculty is highly supportive and approachable Faculty in NITIE are highly qualified and proficient with PhDs and Researchers from top colleges of India, having experience in multiple domains and sectors and having a convenient knowledge base. The teaching methodology is generally case based and practical for better conceptual knowledge. As the faculty is closely associated with various initiatives of Govt. of India, they are highly knowledgeable and practical-oriented. We have 6 semesters in 2 years and exams are timely as scheduled. The exams are of moderate level and are completely from what is being taught.

Students are eligible for summer placements beyond 1st semester itself. After completing summer placements after 3rd semester, students are eligible for their final placements. 107 companies visited in 2022 and their names are available in the placement report available on the website. Avg. package stood at 25.4 LPA for 2022 which is a 30% annual increase. There is 100% campus placement with the highest CTC at 49 LPA. All the top-level profiles from Operations and Supply chain management, Consulting, General Management, Program, and Product management were being offered with good roles in marketing, finance, and HR as well. The avg stipend for the summer of 2023 stood at 1.85 Lakh and the median was 2 Lakh. The highest package stood at 3.5 Lakh.438/498 students got a stipend of more than 1 lakh and 128 companies visited the campus for the process. After getting my degree I wish to work in an organisation in a strategic role where I would like to implement and practice my learnings.

The feed of course lies between 13-14 Lakhs for 2 years. The fees can be paid every trimester basis. Right now there is no information regarding the fee hike. The hostel fee is 60,000 per year and mess charges are around 3-4k per month which is optional. There are various kinds of scholarships available : 1) Girls Scholarships 2) SC/ST Scholarships 3) EWS Scholarships 4) Sports Scholarships 5) Academic Excellence Scholarships These scholarships are either by the institute or the companies supporting these initiatives. The placement opportunities at the campus are excellent due to the rich alumni base and fantastic campus location. This is one of the most affordable Tier -1 MBA colleges in India.

Life on campus is simply amazing and beautiful. Being at God's own campus you enjoy a beautiful campus away from the hustle of central Mumbai. Being a PG and Ph.D.-only campus, the atmosphere and vibe are subtle and full of freedom. The annual cultural fest is Avartan which starts with inter-collegiate sports and cultural competitions followed by leadership talks and case competitions. The whole campus is a festive ground with no classes and only fun mode for the entire week. It is conducted in October. There are societies as per all the interests like cultural com., Women development cell, E-cell, Alumni Relations, Placements, Rankings, Marketing, Finance, Sports, Impact, Enactus and much more. All of these are student-run clubs and committees. The library is a 3-floor one and has all the books in physical as well as digital form with top journal subscriptions like Gartner. Classrooms are air-conditioned with single and dual projector options and a stage and step format.

The rooms have free electricity and furniture like a bed, table, chair, cupboard, fan, lights, and slabs. The washrooms are both individual and common based on your hostel. The rooms are double sharing for both boys and girls. Meal quality is good and is abundant in terms of variety. The annual hostel fee is just 60000 and registration is just a one-time process. The campus is located between Powai and Vihar lake and the sights of both can be seen from hostel windows along the beautiful sights of hills nearby. NITIE pond is another cheery on the cake when it comes to the serenity of NITIE. The rooms are regularly cleaned and the hostel is always having active management staff ( 24*7) with highly secure premises.

Admission process - After the CAT result, I filled out the admission form for NITIE. After this NITIE shortlisted me for a virtual PI based on my percentile. Then a merit list is prepared based on the weighted marks from Interviews, Academics, Work-experience, CAT percentile, and overall profile. This list comes in steps with moving waitlists. I was offered admission to the 2nd shortlist Eligibility - Admission to the PGDIM course is open to full-time graduates of all branches of engineering or technology, along with additional inclusion of the following streams : 1) M.Sc. (mathematics and statistics) 2) Dual degree (maths and computing) minimum five years 3) BS/ B.Tech (economics) minimum four years The candidate must have an aggregate 60% mark with a valid CAT score for PGDIM. Yes, I faced a Personal Interview. NITIE generally does not take GDs and PI has a very high weightage. THE PI was purely based on my academics and the work-ex along with a few general knowledge questions. A few routine questions like Why NITIE and where do you see yourself in 5 years were regular. My preparation strategy was to go properly through the workex pointers of my CV and to get versed with the concepts of my graduation. Also, I tried to incline my answers toward operations management and strategies.
