BITS Pilani - an overall review

The course offers a mix of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes, and management related courses such as supply chain, operations, etc. Faculty here are mostly PhDs from renowned Indian and foreign universities The teaching method involves regular classes, with some tutorial tests or quizzes, a midsemester exam, and an end-semester exam.

Three major festivals of Pilani campus are: OASIS(cultural festival) APOGEE(technical festival) BOOM(sports meet) There are more than 50 clubs on campus for different activities such as dance, drama, robotics, AI, mime, finance and economics, film making, etc The institute has very good spot amenities which include football, cricket, hockey grounds, athletics track, volleyball courts, basketball, lawn tennis, squash, billiards, swimming, badminton, etc.

Hostels are decent, in the first and second year you get double rooms, and then onwards single rooms. Rooms have a good study table and chair, bed, with a decent size bookshelf, an Almirah, and a fan. Mess food is much better compared to government colleges. Hostel registration occurs on an online portal.

The eligibility criteria for admission in any of the courses in BITS are: a) 75 % score in CBSE 12th examination in science and mathematics. b) A BITSAT score equal to or more than the cutoff score for the specific course. The admission process is very efficient with no reservation quota, and a general exam, that is BITSAT takes place and cutoffs released are the same for everyone, irrespective of gender, or caste.
