Remarks

Stay Away!!! this college is not for serious students. sure you will make friends in this college. you will have amazing time 4 years. but that is not what you come for engineering. teaching is bad, placements are bad, whole experience is bad!!!! appear for JEE Main again but dont go for this college

Entrance Preview

i took MHT CET exam for admission. ad i got only 90 in MHT CET i had to opt for TIER III college. So here i landed, in MGMCET.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

I must say this was the worst part of the institute. from the first day they start giving you assignments. since so many people come from kalyan/kurla/etc they spend around 3 hours daily just commuting in local trains. so after coming from college it is really tiring to write assignments and study. most of the time people choose writing assignments because they carry marks and a late submission costs marks. in case of practicals very few teachers explain the practicals most of the time we have to rely on google only.

Internships Opportunities

no, our college does not provide any internship. but actually if you go for internship during college time, they'll put you in defaulter's list and you have to perform the practicals again. otherwise your submission wont be completed.

Placement Experience

1.5

placements are OK OK for Computer, IT, Electronics and Telecommunication. rest of the branches dont get any placements. for my batch only 5 students were placed out of 135 students. the highest package was 3.5L per annum for jio infocom. few of the companies were: Jio Infocom- 3.5L/annum QAD India- 3L/annum Sutherland-2.2L/annum Nucsoft India pvt ltd- 2.21L/annum

College Events

3.5

there are not very many events celebrated in the college. there is the main college festival which is held around march end or april start. it is an intra college festival. divided into tech, sports and cultural events for 3 days each. till last year it used to be for whole week but this year due to the decision of management only 3 days events were held. dont keep much expectations from the fest very few people show up for the events except DJ Night. you will enjoy DJ Night for 2 days for sure

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fees for first year is around 90,000. which increases about 3-4 thousand every year. for OBC it is around 45 thousand. and for other categories it is around 7-8 thousands. it is fairly affordable but quite on higher side as compared to other Navi Mumbai colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

TATA Offers the scholarship for those who get 80% and above. also the economically backward people do get freeship wich waives off the tuition fees.

Campus Life

3

This is the real positive part about this college. the campus life is amazing. you'll make amazing friends. though the teachers dont provide practical knowledge you will learn great things on the internet as there is no limit how much internet you used. the computer systems are great. the boys to girls ratio pretty good in MGM around 3:2. great atmosphere most of the time.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

there is no hostel facility for boys. you can accommodate in the Paying Guest rooms available around the 2-3 kilometers radius of the college. you will have to find the tiffin service yourself though. for girls, the hostel service is available at sanpada, 40 minutes away from the college by bus. daily 2 rounds are done by bus from sanpada to college. if you miss that it is tough to reach college because the hostel is far from railway or bus station.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so great. people want to just complete the course and never come back to the college. so once a student is passed out, they will never be seen again in college unless there are some documents to collect.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is according to Mumbai University. there are two unit tests of 20 marks whose average is take in final evaluation. practicals of 25 marks are taken. and at the end end sem exam is conducted of 80 marks each sbject. in which 32 is the passing marks. the practicals and lectures do leave us tired at the end of the day. but the final exams are pretty chilled out as there are 6 days in between two exams

Admission

I got the allotment in MGM CET in Second Cap round. i reported the college at 11 AM the next day. the directions for the admission were clear. the only problem was that the only payment option was by Demand Draft, online payment/cheque payment/cash was not accepted. and an Undertaking from student and parents on 100Rs bond paper was to be submitted. so we had to search for out bank's branch in panvel and the notery. so it took whole day to complete that process. next day the admission was completed in around 1 hour

Faculty

1

faculty is mix bag in MGM CET. it depends on which branch you are in. Mechanical, civil and electrical have really supportive and friendly staff. but for rest will make you struggle for submissions. you have to write apology letter for almost everything because somehow the teacher's ego got hurt. Most of the teachers communicate in marathi as they are all locally hired. at least in this case you are on your own or video tutorials.
