Remarks

I took the JEE-MAINS Exam. The eligibility for the exam was 12th class with Non-Medical. You can find out the application form on the official website. After completing the first exam you have to clear the JEE-Advance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the B.Tech course to learn about this course. In our class, the total number of students is more than 80. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders and some faculties are MTech holders. The exams are not so tough.

Placement Experience

You can get the placements after the 7th semester or after the 8th semester. I visited the rail coach factory which was provided by the college. After the degree, I did the post-graduation degree from IIIT-B which is a one-year program in Data Science.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for the first semester is a little bit high than the other semester because it includes a security fee. The overall fee charged from me was around 6L. As I don't get any of the scholarships but there was a scholarship for the SC caste students.

Campus Life

The name of the annual fest is TECH-FEST and it mainly occurred in January. The books are available from the Library. There are sports facilities with football and baseball games and the gym is also there.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel has different building blocks according to the year wise. The meal quality was good , you can do breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can get sweetdish also with the dinner. You can fill the hostel form during the admission time.

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
