Remarks

There wasn't any extra selection process. You have to be 12 passes, meeting the cut off which is around 80%+ in the first merit list. And goes down to 68% with additional merit lists coming up. All the details about the course and admission process are provided in the college website notification panel, https://www.kcdccollege.ac.in/ Reservation is given on the basis of seat allocation percentage as directed by the government. The admission process is very smooth without much hassle.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Started BCom Honours as I was interested in the financial aspects of a company and the economy overall. The faculty-student ratio needs to be improved, it's very less as of now. As a rough estimate, it is 1:70. Although the faculty is highly qualified the teaching methods need to be updated. Some of the new teachers have started adopting new and innovative methods but the previously existing professors need to adapt too. Due to the global pandemic, our entire curriculum was disrupted. This led to the conduction of 3-semester finals within a single year. Although this can't be blamed upon the college as it is controlled by Gauhati University (which affiliates with our college). Lastly, speaking of the exam difficulty, you can cover the theoretical part in about 1 month for all the subjects.

Placement Experience

1

Just as I said earlier, campus placements aren't much talked about merely because not many good companies are coming here. Every student has to make his own future plans regarding employability. Many of them are already pursuing CA, CS, and CFA. Some are preparing for govt job exams and some for CAT.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for one year ( two semesters) is around 5500. Scholarships are not provided by the college but they can assist you in avail of scholarships under the National Scholarship Portal given by the Government of India. You can also avail of BPL schemes to waive your admission fees which are provided by the State Government. Campus placements are not much talked about.

Campus Life

3

The annual fest is held by the name of "Cultural Week" during which various sports competitions are organised along with cultural competitions. These is generally organised in the month of February. Our college is partially digitalised as of now but it has an aim of making it completely digital in the next 5 years. KC Das also has India's first ever Commerce Practical Lab. Classrooms have mic and speakers for better audibility of the teacher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is very rich and varied for someone from commerce background . There are a lot of subjects for students which students study in various semesters . There's even EVS in the curriculum which is wierd but also great . I feel the curriculum is a lot based on the real life there are topics related to computerised accounting, e businesses , virtual reality , augmented reality , stock markets etc etc . which are ig very necessary for today's world . Since I am just in my 1st semester I don't think I can say a lot about the improvements that can be made but I feel the curriculum can also include a little about AI as it's the burning topic of today's world . If there's a subject like EVS for commerce then I feel even an AI subject will not pose much difficulty or chaos among the students . Exams are very regular . I just had my sessional exams in October and now I am preparing for my finals which are in December

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nothing influenced my decision to choose this course. I just wanted to choose this course for fun, to be honest. the curriculum rarely prepares us for real-world applications or further academic pursuits but whenever it does it would be very beneficial for the students. Held frequent inspections in the college so that they can improve themselves and the teaching method should be in a friendly and more comprehensive way. The exam timings are perfect along with the perspective of their difficulty level.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, nothing specific has influenced me in the decision to choose this course that is BCOM as most of these student after passing shoes, so I also opt to BCOM. Well, the curriculum does not fully prepare the students for real world applications or further academic pursuits. They does not provide any practical knowledge or any kind of internship to the students for the real world. Well, according to me, they should provide some internship or something related to practical knowledge. This improvements are very necessary. The frequency and timing of exams is very low like within four months the university tries to complete the whole semester, and it's very hard to complete the whole syllabus within just four months.
