Remarks
The examination held at VIT, also known as VITEEE has been alleged with having a lack of transparency. Consequently, many students feel that the rank they've achieved, what later decides the fees they'll need to pay are suspicious.
Course Curriculum Overview
All the faculties here are highly qualified and almost everyone holds at least a PHD degree in their respective fields. Most faculties are helpful even if approached for personal problems. Exams are conducted every month, and it's a lot hectic here. Even in between exams, there are quizzes and assignments. Passing is relative to how well you've studied. If given sufficient preparation, Passing a subject is easy.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come here for internships and give decent stipends. However, very few people are actually able to bag an on-campus internship. However, doing at least one internship is mandatory to get the degree.
Placement Experience
Almost everyone from CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical gets placed. The average placement for CSE students is around 1500000. The highest package rose to around 1.02 Cr. All the major companies including Google, Microsoft, Deeshaw, Morgan Stanley, etc visit campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee you pay is based on the rank you get in the VITEEE examination, which they call CATEGORY. People with the best ranks get category 1 wherein they need to pay approximately 2 LPA which increases gradually to 7 LPA with an increase in categories. VIT also provides financial assistance to the needy students if they are academically sound.
Campus Life
VIT has two of the flagship fests- The Riviera and Gravitas. Riviera is the cultural fest that is held in the month of February- March and hosts a lot of celebrities and performances. Gravitas on the other hand is the tech fest wherein students showcase their technological prowess. There are a lot of sports facilities available inside the campus including basketball courts, table tennis, indoor games, etc. There are hundreds of student-run clubs be they technical, cultural or linguistic clubs.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms may be crowded or spacious depending on the hostel block. Each room will have wifi connectivity, a bed, a desk and a chair, cupboard. AC rooms are also available. The rooms are very expensive. Meal and mess, in general, are very good with a well prepared balanced diet with milk and fruits.
