Remarks

The admission process was quite easy. Usually, they conduct an entrance exam which is usually not very competitive because the university is not a very popular one. Although they give direct admissions near the admissions deadline. Eligibility is 50% more in class 12 from any stream, reservation benefits are also available for eligible students as far as eligibility is concerned. An entirely online admission process would kick out any unfair practice.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose political science because the following politics is my passion and political science is quite helpful in preparation for UPSC CSE. Talking about faculty: the student ratio, there's approximately 1 faculty for every 10 students. Faculty qualification is something which needs to improve a lot. Teaching methods are ordinary with very few exceptions, as far as my course is concerned. Term exams are usually held on time and the difficulty level is usually between easy to moderate.

Fees and Financial Aid

The academic fee of 40000/- per annum, is a little unjustified given the quality of education and facilities provided. There are no university-funded scholarships but students do get UP state govt scholarships. which is approximately 20000/- a year. There are no job opportunities on campus.

Campus Life

2

The annual fest is abhivyanjana held in November, but sometimes gets postponed or cancelled too. Tech fest is held more often than other fests and happens throughout the year. The library is huge but important and popular books of most courses are often missing from the library. Classrooms are usually clean and proper seats are available, air conditioners are available but they are never running. Smart boards and projectors are not available in every class. There are few dance clubs and music clubs in the university. But clubs are not as efficiently run as in other universities such as Delhi university.

Hostel Facilities

2

Separate rooms with a balcony are provided to each student, which is something I appreciate, the room has a bed (without a mattress), a table, a chair, a wardrobe, one bookshelf with two lights and one fan. Bathrooms are common and often unclean and unmaintained Food is below average; poor quality, unhygienic, and unhealthy to say the least. The registration process is easy but time-consuming, and hostel fees are 70000/- per year which I think is pretty high for govt university with such facilities.

Other Applied Colleges

Christ University | Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Economics)

Found political scienc more apt for my career prospects.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith - [MGKVP], Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Education)
Reviewed on Feb 17, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA curriculum in my college at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) for the 2025–2026 academic year is structured under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, making it academically comprehensive but traditionally theoretical. It follows a six-semester system that offers a wide range of subjects, from core Humanities (History, Political Science, Hindi) to modern electives and Vocational courses (e.g., Nutrition, Yoga, or Digital Literacy), providing students with a multidisciplinary framework. In terms of relevance, the syllabus is exceptionally well-suited for students aiming for government services and competitive exams (UPSC/UPPSC), as the depth of social science subjects mirrors the state and national civil service patterns. However, its professional comprehensiveness is lower; while the curriculum includes internal assessments, presentations, and project work to build soft skills, the actual delivery remains focused on rote learning and theory rather than industry-ready practical training. Consequently, the course is highly relevant for an academic or administrative career path but requires significant self-supplementation (internships or external skill-building) for those seeking immediate roles in the private sector.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. One of the main reasons I chose this course was its balanced syllabus, which includes both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is designed in a way that builds a strong foundation in core subjects while also introducing advanced topics gradually. This helps students understand subjects deeply rather than just studying for exams.
