Admission is through the JEE Advanced. One has to score a very decent rank on that entrance test to get into the IITs. After clearing the exam, there will be counseling rounds in order to choose the college and courses. These details can be found on the NTA's website or JOSAA. The seat allocation to the students is done based on their rank, reservation (if any), and their opted preferences.

I was naturally inclined towards Mechanical from the start of my JEE preparation. Faculty is highly qualified as well as professional and are well educated in various IITs and some foreign institutes. Coming to the strength of faculty, there are sufficient numbers, recently nearly 10 professors joined. We have 2 semesters a year, each with mid-semester and end-semester exams and some timely class tests(for internal marks). Like we will be having exams once every 2 months.

Placements are very satisfying. Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester (some may have already got offers from their Internship company in the form of PPO-Pre Placement Offer). Many companies do visit here for their hiring process which starts in September-October. But, the majority of the students are placed in the months of December and January. Companies visited are major on the software side, since many students are inclined towards IT-related jobs. It is somewhat tough to get a job in core-related companies like Tata, Suzuki, etc. and their CTC is also low compared to software firms like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldmann Sachs, Oracle, JLR, etc. The highest package offered was nearly 56lpa and the overall average of package would be like 15lpa. Nearly about 90% of students will be placed every year and some students are interested in higher studies as they are interested in research, so they choose MS from foreign universities.

The fee would be roughly 1.1 lakhs (institutional) + 14 thousand (hostel+mess) per semester. Many students have the opportunity to get their institutional fee as a refund if they have an annual income of fewer than 4.5/5 lakhs. There are few scholarships available. Internships are available to the prefinal year students ranging from 10k to 1.5 lakhs per month, but not everyone will get that opportunity.

There are various fests and clubs available for students from their 1st year itself. They can choose any club of their interest. Wissenaire is the tech fest and annual fest Alma-fiesta and other fests like E-summit and Ashwamedha all ar econductes in the months of January and February(Except Ashwamedha). We do have a library, where there is also a study room. Many books referred to by the professors are available in the library itself. Sports facilities are good, but not the best(because some are still under process). It is mandatory for the 1st year students to take at least one course out of NSS, NSO, or NCC.
