Remarks

There are two phases in admission. Phase-I is the college entrance exam CGET which can be applied online through the CVRGU website. And phase-II admissions are for those who have cracked JEE and OJEE. Students who crack the CGET exam and have cracked JEE and OJEE.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in IoT and Cyber Security. However, you can also opt for other specializations such as Data Science, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, etc. The core branch is also available. Faculty is pretty good and decent. Every single student has a mentor whose job is to help the student if any problem arises.

Class Size: 207Course Fees: INR 181000 per year

Placement Experience

From semester 6th the students become eligible for campus placements. Various companies visit, namely, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Cisco, Amazon, Capgemini, Bosch, and Tech Mahindra. More than 84% get placement. About me, I want to crack OHCP and get a good off-campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is pretty high. Sometimes they ask you to pay the fees semester wise and suddenly they ask for the whole year, which can be tough for some students, and the same goes for hostel. Tuition fees is 181,000. Hostel fees is 96,000 for Non-AC and 110,000 for AC rooms.

Campus Life

There are many clubs such as chess, dance, art, cricket, basketball, volleyball,etc. The college never pays attention to football even when there are many good players who are willing to form a football club and go for tournament, they don't even provide a good ground to play football, this is a issue I faced myself. The meal provided by the college mess is just bad, even the plates they serve are covered in oil because its not washed properly. One good thing is that the college has one of the best cricket ground and really well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good but way too costly. For non-AC rooms the fees is 96,000. For AC rooms 120,000. There are 5 hostels. 4 Boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. About the meal quality, its way too bad. Even the plates we are served in are dirty and covered in oil. The plates are never properly washed.

TRUTH OF ITER

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

I would rate five out of five about the curriculum of the giet university because it is more updated in comparison of other universities of odisha. The exams are taken in the gap of one and a half month. There is no need to update the curriculum

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of this university is updated and they conduct regularly test. The timing for 2 cycle tests is about one and a half month and the semester exam is conducted after 2nd cycle test. The level of exam is quite good and anyone can secure Good marks if they try hard

Placements are good here, I don't know much about it because right now I'm in first year only. But according to seniors the placement training starts from 3rd or 2nd year as compared to the course duration and even they have on campus and off campus placement also and the avg placement in of 4 lac.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.
