Remarks
I took CAT. The application form is on their website, opens in about April, and can be filled out until late September. The eligibility is good graduation from any government-recognized college or university. I availed the benefits of reservation. I don't think any improvement is necessary for the admission process - it seemed fair and since we have a lot of quality candidates, I don't think we have any reason to think otherwise.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is the same as any MBA college. Why I chose the course Because it is FMS, of course. There are 23 permanent and more than a dozen guest faculty, which means that there are sufficient teachers for a college with 2 batches of 280 students each. All of our faculty have Ph.D. from reputed institutes, and guest faculty bring the additional benefit of coming with decades of work experience in the real field. Exams are easy to pass. They seem a little untimely only after the summer placement process of the first semester. Although there is ample preparation time, I guess we are just tired after the process.
Internships Opportunities
Dozens of companies come to FMS for hiring as well as summer internships. And the average stipend given for internship last year was 1.345 lac. My project was in the Gold Loans department of Axis Bank. Everyone gets an internship.
Placement Experience
We are FMS are really happy as 32 LPA was the average final placement of last year. We are on par with top IIMs but our course is 12 times cheaper. Everyone gets placements. My plans are to have a nice job, then a nicer job, and then an even nicer one in my field, and also with high packages.
Fees and Financial Aid
FMS has the cheapest MBA in India, and probably in the world. You pay less than 2 lakh for MBA here, and about 30-40 k every year as MSA fees. it is your contribution to all cultural events, repairs, etc in college. I interned at Axis Bank these summers with a stipend of Rs 1.2 lakh per month.
Campus Life
Small campus. But you live in flats, not in a hostel, so that is okay. Plus we have 2 campuses, not one, and buses are provided for the commute. All textbooks are available in the library. Classrooms have all amenities of classrooms in any Tier 1 college. There are tons of social groups. FMS is run by students. Literally.
