
Remarks
The admission process was on the merit basis. The eligibility of the Course was 75% in the HSC examination. All the details related to the admission process i.e., the application form, application fees, and application dates can be found on the official website of the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University (commerce.nirmauni.ac.in) under the head "Admissions & Aid". Application forms are online only and are out just after the results of the 12th board and the last date ends within 2-3 months. The application fee is around 800 which you need to pay at the time of filling out the application form.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course prepares students for Accounting, Banking, Insurance, and Finance. The program structure is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of accounting, auditing, taxation, legal and BFSI sectors. The Institute has 11 full-time faculties and 12 visiting faculties. The faculties at the institute are so friendly & helpful. The teaching methodology includes class discussions and presentations followed by putting theoretical knowledge in use by incorporating internships and live projects. Also, weekly guest lectures and industrial visits & interaction with industry experts. In addition to the core curriculum, every semester one supplementary course is offered like HRM, Personality Development, Foreign language, Presentation skills, Data analytics, and many more. Every 20 sessions per subject, the institute conducts quizzes and class tests which help students to get prepared for the end-term examinations.
Placement Experience
From the semester 5th of a 3-year course, a student becomes eligible for campus placements. Companies like KPMG, EY, S&P Global, Neilson, Awwficacy, Johnson, TresVista, Federal Bank, Bank of America, Orphicy and many more visited the campus for recruitment. The placement team achieved the target of 100% placements for the academic year 2020-21. The highest package for the year 2020-21 was 6.7LPA and the average package was 3.5 LPA along with that the profiles offered were Data processing specialist, Sales executive, Investment analyst, Marketing analyst, and Associate.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every semester, a minimal amount of fees is charged i.e. around INR 50,000. Along with that, student activity fees is charged from every student which includes books and other activity funds per year. The scholarship scheme for the students admitted to BCom. (Hons.) a program run under the Institute of Commerce: Category I - (Based on merit only) In this top 1, next 2 and next 2 students with highest percentage marks obtained in qualifying examination for admission (12th board) will get scholarship of 100%, 75% and 50% deduction of tution fees. Category II -(Merit-cum-Means basis) Top 1 student whose parent's annual income is INR 3.50 Lakh or less will get 100% deduction of tution fees. Next 2 with income INR 5 Lakh or less - 75% of tution fees. Next 2 with income INR 6 Lakh or less - 50% of tuition fees.
Campus Life
The annual fest of the Institute of Commerce is Elysian, which is a national-level fest with various events in it. Library at nirma is open every day (including Saturday and Sunday). You will also be provided with remote access of the library where you can access every book, journal, article or even previous exam paper online. The classroom amenities at the Institute of Commerce include daily newspapers, smart board, ducting, escalators and elevators, and many more. Institute conducts many sports events and a separate sports committee is assigned for it which is run by the students themselves. Other committees at ICNU are Student Advisory Committee, NSS Club, The media and Publication Club, Cultural Club, Natraj Club, Music Committee, Theatre Club, Fashion Club, Decoration Club, Placement Cell, and Udgam - The social club.
