Remarks

College was planned in a very nice manner. The proximity to Delhi was one of the major factor of college having many students from Delhi.

Entrance Preview

PTU,Jalandhar I opted for the said college due to the course availability and its proximity to Delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum comprised of all the practicals of the theory we studied. Understanding the workshop elements comprising of automoblie workshop and the manufacturing workshop were interesting. Hands on experience greatly helped every time.

Internships Opportunities

For the manufacturing segment we had INTERNATIONAL TRACTORS LIMITED,SONALIKA Group (Hoshiarpur) and NAHAR INDUSTRIES (Dapar - Dist Mohali) visiting our college for the recruitment. I was lucky enough to be placed at ITL,Hoshiarpur.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement and Job opportunities were ample. The TPO (Training and Placement Officer) were every encouraging and helped us to participate in numerous JOINT campus interviews. Package offered by them was 1.20 Lakhs per annum with a bond of 3 years. Having a fixed increment of Rs 5,000 every year.

College Events

4

We had GURDAS MANN visiting our college on the annual Fest. Along with Surjit Bindrakhiya. No stone was left unturned to make the event a happy go lucky event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was at PAR with any other Privately funded college. Our being a old one provided us with all the amenities. We had to deposit the semester fees for the next semester in the present semester. ie avoid any penalties etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I did not availed any loan facility. Though Govt sector banks were ready to offer the complete fees as a loan amount for the studies.

Campus Life

5

We had a huge ground right besides our college which housed a running track and a football field. Same was used to organize the annual sports event for the college. Many national players from Kabadi, swimming, running etc were from our college only.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel was nice. Though being situated outside the college the food served as well as the daily needs were are located within a walking distance.

Alumni/Alumna

We had our alumi network via the TPO's office. And regularly receive mails, updates on the latest happening in our college. Usual meeting are organized to keep a bond among students and teachers.

Exam Structure

Exam Structure was very nicely planned with ample time provided between each of them. Though some times the exams for a particular semester stretched for a month.

Faculty

5

Faculty was very good. Most of the professors were retired professionals from PEC,Chandigarh. Specially mentions goes out the the prof of SOM (Strength of Materials) and TOM (Theory of Machines). Even the MP (Manufacturing Practice) and ROBOTICS streams w

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
