Remarks
Application for FMS starts just after the CAT exam ends, it usually starts on 10th December and the application window is open only for 15 - 20 days. Last year we were able to fill the form till 15th January. So, the most imp thing is to fill the form correctly with all the details. And these dates are also posted on the "Collegedunia" website. So, you can track dates from here.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was very passionate about marketing in the food domain, my hobbies include cooking and baking and I have a great motivation to work in this field. I am from Delhi itself and my parents have always praised DU colleges, and when I saw the FMS ranking, I aimed to crack it because the study is said to be highly advanced.
Internships Opportunities
I interned at Dr. Reddy's laboratories and my experience was very nice. Projects floated were live ongoing projects at that time, some were on marketing, and some were on strategy but yes you will have to have a basic prior knowledge of the domain in which you'll be working like the food domain or marketing domain.
Placement Experience
Highest: Rs 60lakhs/yr. Around 100+ companies visit campus for summers and finals. All types of companies visit to campus with different specifications like food technology, media technology, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, etc. Just your prep should be right to get in there.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit-based scholarships are available in plenty for girls on various sites like Buddy4Study, I had also tried from here. Then scholarships for weaker sections of society and caste reservation kotas also have scholarship assistance at DU. FMS fees are not very high although.
Campus Life
I was a part of Vihaan in my first year which is the social service club at FMS Delhi. We also have Zykaa which is the cooking and baking club at FMS Delhi. We usually cook delicious items and combat regional differences here, thereby interacting and enjoying each other's culture by enjoying their regional food. Feels like a "mini-India" here with all cultural background people.
Interview Experience
For CAT - Quants, LRDI, and English are three main sections, each should have a good score and more than 99%ile is expected overall to crack FMS in one shot for general. Competition is very high but your motivation to do it will help you pave a path to crack FMS. I think quants were very tough during our time and students should focus on accuracy more. PI and Extempore are also conducted post this.
